Spending most of the day on my Council duties, planning footpath and road improvements with Mike Pope and then taking a break to watch test cricket before attending a poor meeting of the Parish Council where there was lack of ambition on getting new amenities
A small journal entry today, as I am running out of paper! Spent most of the day on my District Council duties, telephoning all and sundry and sorting out my papers. I arranged to see Mike Pope tomorrow night to talk transport (road and footpath) problems. Watched some TV today and saw England get off to a good start against the West Indies – dismissing them for 200 in less than a day. This evening, I went to the Amenities meeting of the Parish Council and was rather disappointed to experience the rather defeatist and dead approach of the members.
Most time was spent on the cemetery and allotments and it was all I could do to raise a discussion on sports and amenity possibilities for the future. A little late to bed, mind full of the lack of progress on history and the poor nature of the Parish Council.
