To take Debbie and Gemma early to the stables on a frosty morning where we mucked out and fed Sundance before leaving him in Gemma’s care so that Debbie could come home for her swimming lesson. I then set off to Hinchingbrooke House for a Democrat meeting and training session, where I was given the role of being a facilitator on the campaigning. Home for lunch and afterwards to my history project despite distractions and calls. The UK government is considering a ban on soft cheeses, enraging the French, and dioxin has been found on the site of Manchester chemical accident
After yet another late night, I was most reluctant to wake up again early this morning, but I still had to get washed and dressed to take Debbie at the stables after breakfast for an 8:15am riding session. I also collected Gemma Carter from Lakefield Avenue en route to save her mother the trouble of taking her too. There was a hard frost this morning and certain of the stable water taps were frozen. We fed and mucked out Sundance before I brought Debs home in time for her swimming lesson. I had to leave Diana to take her back afterwards as I was changed and off in the Rolls-Royce to Hinchingbrooke House for a Democrat meeting and training session ahead of the County Council elections. I had been given a last-minute job as one of the ‘facilitators’ on the ‘campaigning’ seminars – the others being about policy and leafleting.

There was a good turnout and it was a valuable event but had to leave at 12:30pm to get home for lunch at 1pm. This afternoon I was at home doing a few things and then returned this evening to my history project without managing a great deal of progress but at least I have proof-read the work done yesterday and marshalled some thoughts for tomorrow. I made a number of calls tonight to finish off other distracting items to get them out of the way. The main news this evening is all about the government considering a health ban on soft cheeses, which has enraged the French government at the prospect. One of the most dangerous substances, Dioxin, has been found at the site of an accident with chemicals at Manchester.
