I took advantage of a sunny, breezy and day to dry out the Paxton Princess bridge after yesterday’s soaking and then we launched the inflatable to go ashore to the shop on South Walsham staithe for a morning paper, milk and bread. Then we cruised home to Heronshaw, finding Alf and Chris there with Freda away looking after Mum at Stanton. Some time this evening planning a navigation route from Norfolk to The Wash as our next challenge.
The sky had cleared and so the night was cold again, but it was sunny breezy and dry which at least gave us the chance to get the bridge dried out. My first task was to go out with the mop again and clear off the worst of the condensation. I then prepared the inflatable with the 2HP motor and let Debbie drive us ashore to the shop on the staithe for a morning paper, milk and bread. Debbie bought some more "friendship bands" of coloured fabric for her wrist and was pleased.

We then returned to the Paxton Princess, stowed the dinghy on the davits and cruised back to Horning and Heronshaw, mooring quite easily in our boat dock. We found Alf and Chris at home, but Freda was spending Easter with Mum at Stanton which was nice as Doris was away. Once we had secured the boat, we went to Wroxham for lunch as a family and offered to take Alf and Chris, but they did not want to come. This evening, Diana took the girls in the car to Norwich to see the latest Disney cartoon as I did the washing and clearing up for her and then settled down to my charts with Daniel watching the TV. I used the larger-scale charts of the Wash and corrected the earlier course and put in many more waypoints. I then fed the information into the navigational plotter and feel that I could get round to the Wash with no trouble. In the end Daniel was moaning about wanting to go to bed and so we did just that.
