Dealing with Diana's ear infection by making a doctor’s appointment, getting some antibiotics and frying the breakfast with the girls finishing the washing up. It became more serious but she ended up the day a little better.
My own illness was being slow to pass but later this evening I wrote up these last couple of days' journal and then had another early night
I did not sleep too badly but then Diana came in this morning and said that her ear had been most painful all night, stopping her from sleeping and that pain-killers had not been of any assistance with it. She came into bed and I went down to get the morning drinks after which we tried to telephone the doctor on the emergency number. It was nearly an hour later (after we had tried about 50 times) that we got through and Diana was given an appointment at Eaton Socon Health Centre for later in the morning.

I fried the breakfast for the family and was pleased to see that they actually enjoyed it and then, after doing most of the washing up and leaving the rest for the girls to finish, I drove Diana down to the clinic to see the doctor. He confirmed that it was an ear infection, and a bad one, that was already weeping fluid through the ear-drum and so he prescribed anti-biotics which I had to collect later from the chemists. In the meantime, I dropped by the cemetery to see Dad's grave and then to the garage to fill up with petrol.
I got Diana her medicine and, after it had begun to work, we made some lunch together and then spent the rest of the day taking things easy. Her ear was discharging more coloured fluids and then blood which she finds very disconcerting. I am still groggy with this cold and I wonder if it will ever go away. I got into my office later this evening to write up these last couple of days' journal and then had another early night.
