After a lay in and time spent watering outside and conservatory plants as well as the hanging baskets, I spent the day on Political Election work as Sandie came over with Ross McKay and Derek Giles joined us later as we were setting out a collage of his press cuttings for the leaflet. Time also fielding queries from John Roscoe who had been struggling with the EARS election computer system
After an early-morning bedtime, I was just about ready for a lay in and so was Diana as Della had also woken her up several times in the night. I stayed in bed with Diana for a while (as absence always makes the heart grow fonder) and then embarked on my chores. The conservatory plants were very dry indeed and needed bags of water and I decided to open just about all of the windows in the house - even those that are normally locked for security. Also had to water the hanging baskets and garden plants and feed the fish before I could have my customary Sunday breakfast.

A full day servicing the Paxton Princess until very late in the evening after a hot and sticky day in Horning with just brief spells of rest to eat and listen to test cricket on the radio as England struggling against the West Indies at The Lords Cricket Ground
I had got to bed quite late, updating my journal, but still woke up quite early this morning. I had left my equipment monitoring the weatherfax broadcasts, but the reception was not good enough without the active aerial and so no useful data resulted. A simple breakfast of tea and cereal and then out to start work on the boat. I opted to work inside as the mist had settled on the varnish and I reckoned that the heat might make this job more difficult later. It was the difficult job of changing the fuel and oil filters and I was not looking forward to it. I ran the engines for a while to warm them up and then, taking my heart in my hands, I unscrewed and removed the starboard fuel filter and struggled to replace it.

Making another working visit to Norfolk after breakfast with the entire family, avoiding the Norwich roadworks and making a good start on re-varnishing the wooden parts of the Paxton Princess
I only woke up at 7.00am this morning and so missed the opportunity to start my journey to Norfolk early. As I achieved quite a lot last night, I did not really mind as it meant I could have breakfast with the entire family. Then to load up the Range Rover with tools, equipment and supplies so as to get on my way at 8.30am. The roads were not too bad and I avoided the road-works on the Norwich By-pass by driving right across the centre of this city. It meant that I could drop in on a cellular telephone supplier where I bought an amplifying aerial and spare battery for the Mitsubishi which I had been meaning to get for some time.

My last day at home before a trip to Norfolk with Hayling View Visitors using my computer for the Huntingdon Liberal Democrats and my swimming pool for leisure in this hot and muggy weather before a good evening Parish Council Meeting. I stayed up late finishing off my financial affairs and correspondence before going to bed close to midnight
It was my last day at home before a trip to Norfolk and I was anxious to get on. I had my mail to get through and then the final preparation of my tax affairs. This morning, Tricia Bridges-Palmer came round to use my MAC computer to do some work for the Huntingdon Liberal Democrats. She had promised not to disturb me, and I took at her word and carried on working but it was obvious that she wanted my help. I carried on working with the Amstrad, monitoring the Short Wave weatherfax transmissions and sorting out my financial affairs at the same time.
