Another hot and sticky day spent at home after a late night updating my journal whilst watching the World Championship Marathon whilst including an exciting 4 by 400m relay event where the Great Britain team just beat the USA to gain only our second gold medal of the championships.
Outside for coffee with Di in the sun as Daniel had his head buried into his oily car all day again which did not please Angela who had come to stay with him for the weekend; particularly as she was thrown fully-clothed into the pool for the second day running! Writing and archiving press cuttings for the rest of the day
I had stayed up quite late last night watching the World Championship Marathon whilst updating my journal and so I wanted a lay in this morning and went back to sleep after Diana brought me my morning tea. Up in my dressing-gown for a nice fried breakfast and then I went straight into the lounge to watch the last of the athletics events, including an exciting 4 by 400m relay event where the Great Britain team just beat the USA to gain only our second gold medal of the championships. The final medal tally was not too bad in the end after a disappointing start but there were far too many injuries that affected the team, and an inquest will be needed.

By the time I had showered and dressed and fed the fish, it was coffee time and I put out two chairs in the garden for Diana and I to use whilst we relaxed with our drinks. Then the rest of the garden-watering and other chores before a nice chicken lunch. Daniel had his head buried into his oily car all day again which did not please Angela who had come to stay with him for the weekend; particularly as she was thrown fully-clothed into the pool for the second day running! I spent the rest of the day with the local papers, the television and the backlog of work to extract the Little Paxton press cuttings which is becoming quite a boring chore. I put my August journal to bed by archiving it this evening and then started the new month. The weather has continued hot and sticky to start September and there is no respite.
