Finishing off the boat electrics plan whilst struggling with the discomfort and inconvenience on this last day of these nose splints. Enjoying the very bright and sunny day as I was able to open the conservatory ventilator for the first time this year.
Heard from the Kimbolton School Domestic Bursar this afternoon that, as from next Wednesday, the school bus will be stopping near here at the new place that I recommended, morning and night, which was a relief to Diana. The news today all ran against the government with unemployment and mortgage repossessions both at record levels but he still favours an April election.
I had hoped to finish my planning of Paxton Princess wiring today but I took most of the morning to get 'up and going' after another late night. I slept better in the end but found it difficult to get off to sleep early due to what was now more discomfort and inconvenience than anything sore or painful. Had a bath and shampooed my hair and then went and fed the fish after forgetting them yesterday. It was a very bright and sunny day and felt mild to me, but Diana said it was chilly outside. With the warmth from the sun, I was able to open the conservatory ventilator for the first time this year.

After a very late awakening, with the girls having been taken to school, I made my own breakfast and then read the newspapers and planned the Paxton Princess electrics reorganisation and then calculated the battery drain and re-charging characteristics.
The boat should now recover from the battery drain of mooring for 24 hours by cruising for 6 hours. Not much sign of the gardener again, even though the weather seems quite mild now.
I was up late last night and then it was even later still before I managed to get to sleep. I then did not wake up until after 9.30am this morning, which is just about the latest time I have lay in since recovering from "jet-lag" and might even be later than that! By this time, both girls had been taken to school and I was left to eat my breakfast alone before slowly getting showered and dressed afterwards. In what was left of the morning, I read the newspapers and then, after lunch, resumed work on my boat electrics.

I managed a full day of office work as my nose improves a little better with less discharge and the occasional hint of air being able to get through, but I crave Friday when I can experience the joy of starting to breathe freely again. I managed to settle down to carry on planning the electrics for The Paxton Princess.
The plumber found that the drainage pipe was blocked under the swimming pool crazy-paving and we will have to get it dug up and replaced which was a blow. I helped the girls with quite difficult homework. News of the conviction and sentencing of both the "gilts" fraudster and the US heavyweight boxer/rapist and it seems that both will get around 10 years in prison.
This morning consisted of the by-now customary routine that had me washed, dressed and ready to start work at around 10.00am. Each day, my nose gets a little better with less discharge and the occasional hint of air being able to get through. In truth, the days are dragging, and I will be glad for Friday to come when I can experience the joy of starting to breathe freely again. A fair mail this morning and need to answer several of the matters that arose from it. This took until lunchtime and then I settled down afterwards to carry on planning the electrics for The Paxton Princess. With occasional breaks, I continued to do this for the rest of the day, ending up ready to start drawing wiring diagrams tomorrow.

Managing to get back in my office work for a change after having a nice bath and then washing my hair which was very necessary. After reading correspondence and newspapers, I was also taking a bit more time and trouble to feed the Koi carp whilst ill. More administration later and updating my journal again.
Today, there was a tragedy in New Zealand as one of our test bowlers fractured a knee-cap during the last day of the last match. The proprietor of Barlows Clowes has been jailed for fraud as the Thatcher deregulation of the City takes another blow
I had a much more productive day, managing to get back in my office for a while and doing some small chores. This morning was still slow as usual, but I had a nice bath and then washed my hair which was very necessary. Quite a bit of mail and then the newspapers which I also tried to read. I am taking a bit more time and trouble to feed the Koi carp whilst I am ill. The Nidan Kahaku has been getting very thin due to its poor feeding and nervous disposition and has not even been trying to eat in competition with the others when food is just thrown in. Over these last three days, I have managed to get it to start eating again and now hope that it will become less emaciated.
