A fine and sunny day for my Harnser working party of Alan and Steve with Jack visiting and Gordon next door needing help after his car broke down. I took Gordon into Wroxham to get some food shopping before repairing to our favourite pub in Horning for a few drinks.
I showed Steve my new shotgun which, by coincidence, was the same make and model that he was given as a first gun when he was a farmer's son of 18!
We were blessed with a day of fine and sunny weather with which to resume work on the new Harnser boathouse. I had programmed my radio to switch itself on and call me but I was awake early anyway and so got myself up and dressed in good time for the arrival of my working colleagues. Alan was first but then Steve followed much later after the long journey from Sawtry. It took some time to sort out the tools, equipment and materials but then a start was made on the rear outside wall, and we got on well. I left Steve and Alan to work together in cutting and fixing the cladding whilst I sanded and stained it in preparation. I had a couple of visitors.

Gordon Vincent was staying next door and his car had broken down and I offered him any help that I could. Jack came by and we had a chat so that I managed to do less than I wanted but had the consolation of knowing that my two helpers were getting on well. It was dark by 5.00pm this evening and we then took Gordon into Wroxham to get some food shopping before repairing to our favourite pub in Horning for a few drinks. A tea of varied cold meats on our return and then I showed Steve my new shotgun which, by coincidence, was the same make and model that he was given as a first gun when he was a farmer's son of 18! My journal and then to bed for another reasonably early night.
