A delightful 25th Anniversary starting with the opening of our special silver presents before breakfast and some bank holiday shopping along Western Avenue.
We avoided the coach party for dinner and then watched the British horror film, "The Hawk". Unfortunately the room was too hot and traffic too noisy to get to sleep easily and I had an unsettled night.
A rather long lay in, a bout of love-making and card-reading and nice present-opening session. We had brought our unopened 25th Wedding Anniversary presents to Brighton with us, and we found Di's father's collection of sterling silver pepper pots passed down to us and, from his brother and sister-in-law, a pair of silver candlesticks once belonging to "Granny Young" and over 100 years old.

To the hotel safe with them and, after all this activity, a consequent mad rush to get downstairs before the breakfast buffet was cleared away. A nice meal eventually and then out in the pouring rain to start our shopping. We called a taxi and first toured the city centre before getting dropped off along the Western Avenue so that we could work our way back to the centre; running from shop to shop and drying off from the heavy rain in between. Lunch together and then I went back to the hotel room for a rest and some TV sport whilst Diana "shopped until she dropped".
We opted for a different format for the evening; eating earlier and then going out. We were treated to far better surroundings for our evening meal as the hotel opened up the proper restaurant and we ate in better comfort and away from the coach party with other overnight guests. Out to see the British horror film, "The Hawk". The film's camera work was at very close quarters and the sound-track far too loud but we still enjoyed it. More anniversary jinks before retiring with our argument of yesterday fully behind us but then I found the room to hot and traffic too noisy to get to sleep easily and had an unsettled night.
