After a short walk, to Norwich Shopping with Diana, and then home to meet Sonny Amis about demolishing and re-piling Heronshaw and Dog Training with Jim and Ben in Sutton where Sam's quartering was an improvement, and he successfully pointed a group of three pheasants before Julie invited me to join the family for a pork roast. Then to arrange with Wiggly for our joint trip to the clinic on Monday.
Today was a rainy day but I tried to make the best of it. First I woke up later than usual but not too late after a shorter night. This let me take Sam for a shortish walk before breakfast in the spitting rain and still get back to eat with the others.

Then Diana and I decided to go into Norwich without the girls for a rest from their constant questions and hassle and we enjoyed the time to ourselves. Coffee in Jarrolds and then shopped separately. I tried to put my gun into the gunsmiths for service but found out that they were closed today and so could not.
Diana succeeded in getting me some new toiletries and underwear. Home to have lunch there and then Diana off to Wroxham with the girls whilst I stayed home to meet Sonny Amis about demolishing and re-piling Heronshaw. A difficult discussion with Sam bounding about and the rain falling but his estimate of £3,000 for demolishing the old building and clearing the site was one solution.
He is also going to contact another party about doing it for the materials and we shall see if that is any cheaper. Then the drive over to Sutton in the rain with Sam for an evening's training with Jimmy and Ben. We walked them locally with Jim's other GSP, Jesse, and then took his car over to the farm and ran the dogs through the sugar beet.
Sam's quartering was an improvement, and he successfully pointed a group of three pheasants but he moved into them after 15-20 seconds and flushed them which he will have to improve on. Then on to some retrieving which he accomplished with ease when Ben struggled instead.
Julie invited me to join the family for a pork roast before we went out and some tea and cake when we got back which was nice of her. Sent a birthday card to my sister today, though she does little to endear herself to me. I took the chance today to get to the phone and make arrangements with Wiggly for our joint trip to the clinic on Monday and talk to her about her problems. Her wisdom tooth comes out on Saturday and this, with her clinic date changes, meant that she had to brief her boss to some extent.
