Then to start packing up and preparing the Discovery for the trip home. Diana tidied the house, and we broke off at midday for lunch.
The Horning Tea Shoppe was closed today and so we tried out The Swan and enjoyed some bread and soup. It did not take us long afterwards to finish packing and putting Harnser to bed and then we set off for home; just stopping briefly to return a few more books to Wroxham library on the way. The roads were quite clear and covered with salt and so the journey was no trouble; particularly as the snow faded the further west we drove. Fine weather for us to unload and remove the roof box at home and then out with Sam for some quartering and retrieving before tea.
Daniel alive and chirpy but I was tired and treated myself to a quiet evening watching the test cricket on the satellite TV. I broke off to update my journal as the only useful thing I did. The news was of The House of Commons rejecting the death penalty once more by even more of a majority than last time and also agreeing a new age of consent for homosexuality, reducing it from 21 to 18. This did not satisfy the so-called "Gay Rights" campaigners who wanted complete equality with heterosexual couples, and they demonstrated violently outside afterwards.
