A little time together with Diana before taking Sam for a run and meeting up with Mr Amis who advised me to demolish Heronshaw and rebuild.
Shopping in Latham’s and then the cruise from Potter Heigham to Stracey Arms via Womack Water in warm and humid weather as Stokesby moorings were full.
The news today was of a huge car bomb attack on the Israeli Embassy in Kensington which followed an attack in Buenos Aries last week which seemed to be the return of extremist Arab terrorism such as Hezbollah
Another good night with no noise or disturbance from Sam who sleeps well in his box. I got up first at 7.00am and then brought morning drinks into our cabin for Diana.

Even at this early hour, the temperature was quite warm and close, but I eventually persuaded her that we should spend a little time together as we have been living cheek by jowl with the children for some while this summer. This successfully achieved, we both washed down, and I went out to take Sam for a run whilst Diana got the girls ready and made the breakfast.
It was quite a while because I met Mr Amis at the staithe. This contractor had put in my Harnser piles and had still got his barge under Heronshaw and I took this opportunity to chat with him about what to do with this old building. I was undecided about whether to pull it down or to try and underpin it with new piles, but he said he would have no hesitation.
The best course would be to demolish it and build afresh. For the same price as restoration, we could have a new if smaller place. Also the cost of demolition would be four times it could otherwise be if there was not the need to try and save the materials carefully. I was glad that I met him but was later back to the boat than I meant to be.
The trip to Latham's for some shopping and morning coffee and then we set off in late morning to cruise down the Thurne to Womack Water where we managed to moor stern-on. On to a local teashop for a late lunch and then it clouded over and began to rain whilst we walked back.
The onward cruise downstream to try to get in at Stokesby but the river was so busy with cruisers that, though we motored up and down for half an hour, no space opened up and so we cruised on to Stracey Arms instead. A tea of tuna salad from the refrigerator instead of the fresh seafood I had in mind from Stokesby village and then a walk along the flood bank to see the windmill and to let Sam meet other dogs and the donkeys that now roam around the site.
The weather had been a little cooler today but still warm and humid and rather uncomfortable. At least there was a brisk breeze that made it just bearable. The news today was of a huge car bomb attack on the Israeli Embassy in Kensington which followed an attack in Buenos Aries last week. This seems to be the return of extremist Arab terrorism such as Hezbollah who are upset by the latest peace deal between Israel and Jordan.
