Norfolk to see Wroxham Builders to arrange for a Heronshaw demolition

Keeping in close touch with Wiggly as I see Diana off to her health farm slimming course and then driving to Norfolk to see Wroxham Builders to arrange for a Heronshaw demolition and then taking Jim Bird to see Norwich finally win their cup match against Tranmere Rovers 4-2 after being 0-2 behind.

This was a different day in many respects, but mainly because Diana was off for a three day/two night stay at a health farm and I was going to have to look after the girls whilst she was away.

A good start as I managed to empty the dog on a short walk to be ready to join the girls on their trek to the bus stop. It was Debbie that opted to walk Sam there as I carried her bags for her.

This over, a walk along the roads and then back to see Diana off; trying to listen to all her last-minute instructions. The morning working at my desk and then I used up the French cheese I had brought back from Norfolk to make a salad for lunch. Then Sam aboard together with the right papers for my meeting and off to Horning.

I managed to arrive a little early and could run Sam up the road before Mr Hurrell of Wroxham Builders arrived to see me. His estimate for demolishing Heronshaw and carting it away was £2,250 and so I accepted it and also gave him a copy of the approved plan for its replacement so that he could do an estimate for them to undertake the re-building.

I fed myself on some more French cheese and celery/cucumber sandwiches and also Sam on his regular food and let him sleep in the back of the Land Rover as I drove into Norwich for the match. I had invited Jim along and met him outside the Barclay Stand and took him in.

The match started off rather depressing as Norwich City seemed to lack ambition and ideas in front of goal after making lots of the mid-field play and then became disastrous as Tranmere Rovers scored a goal each side of half time to take a 2-0 lead.

Then Jeremy Goss came on for Ian Crook and within seconds Norwich got a goal back and within ten minutes were 3-2 up. Tranmere threw lots of players forward and there was bound to be another goal but when Norwich scored again to open up a 4-2 lead, the game was over.

The traffic and then the drive home to arrive before midnight for a Bournevita and banana snack. I kept in close touch with Wiggly today and telephoned her on no less than three occasions to monitor her progress to health and encourage her to get back into the course and, by the end of the day, she was quite recovered.
