Car Servicing and shopping in Norwich, protecting The Jolly and then collecting Wiggly from the station for a handsome pheasant dinner with and night at Harnser
An early start as I had to get up to exercise Sam and then drive into Norwich to drop off the Discovery for an overdue service.

There just after 8.30am and then Mann Egerton ran me into the city to do some shopping. The morning newspaper, some coffee and a scone in Jarrold’s and then I toured the shops until my car was ready.
Another lift back to collect my car and drive into Wroxham as I needed a new tarpaulin to cover "The Jolly" now it was no longer under a boathouse and some more vegetables and ingredients with which to serve my brace of pheasants in the evening.
First to Jewson’s for the cover and I was surprised to find that it had been more than six months since my last purchase there so that I had to get my account reactivated before I could take away the goods!
Home to start the project of tailoring the cover and the weather was dry, if windy, to give me a chance. I used a long length of bungy cord to tie a loop and secure the cover under the gunwales and then had to trim the cover to fit before using the eye kit to crimp on sufficient tying eyes to thread the cord and make a more permanent job.
Unfortunately, the cover material was not resilient enough to be used when underway or when the boat is in the water, but it formed a weatherproof layer for the boat when laid up.
I sorted through the garage and retrieved the items that we wanted to take home, which included my old cuddly "teddy" swivel chair, a small table and the oval rug as well as the set of three stacking chairs which I stowed aboard the boat, and under the new cover, for taking to Wiggly's place on my way home.
All this done, I had to pluck the brace of pheasants and prepare them for roasting with the vegetables. This was tough going but I got there in the end and was set to take Sam for a walk when I picked up Wiggly's telephone message that she had got away from her meeting and was to be on the early train.
This put the cat amongst the pigeons for me as my timings had to be condensed but I did so and was off to collect her as requested. A cup of tea once I had got her back and then she changed into something sexier whilst I finished off the meal.
I gave us smoked salmon rolls, filled with tails of crevette and served on a bed of salad for starters. Then the roast pheasant each (hen for her, cock for me), accompanied by roast swede, turnip and mushroom and by boiled carrot and leek to make quite a full dish of it.
We finished off with fresh apple and banana chunks with strawberries and double cream and then some coffee. It was a good meal and a success. Time washing up and clearing away whilst Wiggly made up our double duvet bed and then a nice session making love and satisfying me despite her period.
She always copes well in these circumstances, fitting a No7 Dutch Cap and receiving me regardless of the time of the month but I could not bring her to a climax despite strenuous efforts to please her.
