Seeing The Provoked Wife at the Norwich Theatre Royal
Seeing The Provoked Wife at the Norwich Theatre Royal

Training with Jim in Suton and meeting with Sam Weller in Horning who had been ill lately and had to admit himself into Guys Hospital, London, for tests, suspecting a heart attack.

Then shopping with Wiggly and to The Theatre Royal to see "The Provoked Wife" before a sexy night at Harnser

It was an early start to get to Jim in time for our arranged training session. Wiggly's alarm went off first at 6.00am and then we were just getting very passionate when my radio alarm turned on half an hour later.

It was a shock for us as a man's gruff voice suddenly said something like "All right, that's it!", just when I had been saying romantic things to Wiggly and was about to enter her.

We thought it was a private detective hidden all night under the bed who had stood up to challenge us! I left Wiggly to have a lay in and look around Norwich on her own for the morning whilst I drove off for the journey to Suton but found no sign of Jim.

A walk up the road with Sam eventually located him walking his dogs quite oblivious to the fact that he was ten minutes late. We drove over to the sheep-grazed grass fields and did some exercises there to first steady the dogs to shot and fall of dummies and then a "compass" game.

Dummies were spread at 90deg angles and the dogs sent to each in turn. I felt that the session had been very useful. The journey to Harnser afterwards to rendezvous with my old friend, Sam Weller, who had come over to look at the old cabinets and refrigerator that I had taken out of the doomed building.

He undertook to come back and collect three metal larders and the 'fridge and I could now see why. With a sheet of perspex fitted inside, they would not only make an exhibit for his museum by themselves, but would also display a variety of other items in keeping with the theme of an old kitchen.

His news was rather depressing. He had recently suffered the warning of breathlessness and chest pains and had to admit himself into Guys Hospital, London, for tests, suspecting a heart attack. They diagnosed strain with which his doctor agreed.

The stress of opening his museum and trying to keep his business running at the same time had taken its toll but at least things were very much more under control now. Also, his partner, Francis, has been diagnosed with a lump in one breast and will need a lumpectomy.

I was able to tell him of the work of "Bosom Friends", a Norfolk-based self-help and counselling service that volunteers help and advice to such people from others who have been through the same experience.

Back into Norwich for lunch at Oliver's and some shopping in the afternoon. I was about ten minutes late to meet Wiggly there but I had collected our suitcases from the hotel and then had to park the car.

She had worked out that I would be struggling and did not mind for she had fun buying a range of things and selecting her choice of winter coat for me to buy as a special present. It was the best one they had at £275 but I thought that she was well worth it.

Then some shirts and more underwear for me and a blind for fitting to her home kitchen. Home to Harnser where I took Sam out for a run and then rested whilst she took the Discovery into Wroxham to buy some things for tea.

She then cooked me a nice meal of cheese-stuffed green pasta with fried leeks, mushrooms, onions and other things with fresh lemon sorbet to follow.

I enjoyed her efforts and then we went to The Theatre Royal to see "The Provoked Wife". It was a fair enough production but very long and I was rather too tired to be patient with it. Home to bed and mutual satisfaction in a sexual encounter for the first time this week.
