After my normal routine walking Sam with Della gathering conkers, morning coffee with Nigel, who had been in a physical battle with Lynne involving emotional and physical abuse.

Then some time with an emotional Wiggly and a poor Norwich City TV match spoilt by torrential rain

Another lay in but today Diana was up first and brought me my morning tea. I was wide awake then and held up by her being in the bathroom and so I went down into my office and carried on with my journal which was well behind-hand and in danger of being deserted.

Then late to get washed, shaved and dressed for breakfast where only Diana and Della were there to eat and even later out with Sam. I took Della with me and we gave Sam a good walk and then crossed the village in search of conkers. We were out for a couple of hours in the end and all became quite tired as a result.

Then a short rest before over to Hail Weston to meet Nigel for a coffee by prior arrangement. It had been raining overnight and The River Kym was quite swollen as I crossed the ford on the way.

Poor Nigel and Lynne are in all sorts of emotional upsets and problems as she keeps coming back from her new house in Grafham to arrive late in the evening and give him a full share of verbal and physical abuse.

Last night, she arrived at 11.00pm and after he had put her out for screaming, shouting and breaking up the place, she got back in and threw stones all around and then broke in a third time by breaking the glass on the back door and cutting herself in the process.

Poor upset daughter Kate Smith ran off to a friend's house in St Neots to avoid the aggravation. I stopped and chatted to Nigel for some time and then made my way home for lunch stopping on the way to chat to Wiggly on the telephone.

She seemed to be a bit depressed and overwhelmed by the task of getting her latest Eynesbury FOCUS delivered and I promised to go over later. In fact I went straight over after lunch and got her organised in contacting past and possible helpers.

From that point of view it was a successful visit but then she became emotional again and cried as I left which put me in a depressed and unsettled state of mind for the rest of the day. The more so, as I had no way of going over to see her again.

The match between Wimbledon and Norwich City, shown on Sky TV and supposed to be a highlight of my day was a depressing affair; played as a game of long range kicks forward in the pouring rain.

Eventually, after much negative play, Ex-Norwich player Efan Ekuko gave Wimbledon the winning goal as the ball stopped in a puddle and fooled goalkeeper Brian Gunn.

After going out to walk Sam, I suffered tea in the lounge watching the first part of The Simpsons and then retreated to my office to finish updating my journal for this week.
