Then overcoming the setback of losing the keys of Harnser by collecting those of Jack

Archiving my journal for June and then travelling to Norfolk on a rainy day and calling in at Jim’s on the way evidently looking tired and drawn "with the worries of the world".

Then overcoming the setback of losing the keys for Harnser by collecting those of Jack.

The morning writing up my journal and finishing off the archive for June.

It was raining today, which prevented Diana from getting outside and doing things so, as I was late getting away to Norfolk, I tried to cheer her up a bit by taking her to Brackenbury's for a spot of lunch. Some chores each and then the shopping at Waitrose.

It was around 3.00pm when I left for Norfolk and I stopped off at Sutton to see Julie & Jim Bird on the way. They treated me to some tea again and, despite the rain, Jim and I got out to do some rough shooting and training with the dogs. W

e did not manage to shoot anything with the shotguns, but it was good experience for the dogs. I managed to use the car telephone to contact Wiggly and found her much more affectionate and much better after having rested and recuperated since the other day.

A long chat with Jim about it after he had mentioned that I looked tired and drawn "with the worries of the world". It was after dark and close to bedtime when I pulled into Ropes Hill Dyke and then I discovered that I had lost the key ring for Harnser and I suspected that I had left it on the top of the car when shuffling things in the rain! Fortunately, I had my spare key with Jack and collected it before he had gone to bed.
