My Dad Fred during the war in Africa and the Middle East where the strong sun caused his ear cancer

I took the family over to see my Dad in hospital at Addenbrookes this afternoon and we pray his cancer will have been arrested. Then to start work on my County Council election campaign this evening.

I laid in an hour until nearly 8am this morning, but still had very little sleep. I was pleased, however, that I had made so much progress the night before. First thing this morning, I sorted out my office and then made a start on my election work. After lunch I took the family over to see my Dad, Fred Broad, in hospital at Addenbrookes.

Daniel had washed the car this morning and I appreciated his help. Dad is recovering from the operation, and his skin graft is taking well but he has no dressing on it at all and I suppose it would heal up better that way. We now all must wait for the results of the tissue tests, and we hope that the cancer will not spread and cause secondary growths elsewhere. Back home this evening I continued my election preparations; almost completing the first election address for Percy Meyer. To bed with Di for once and we were awake together for the first time in a long while.
