Some time with Di and then across to Heronshaw for a shave and bath before mopping the boats and taking the girls over to the Horning Leisure Centre for a swim. Then the trip into Norwich to collect Daniel and Angela to lend him Di’s car before we cast off.
Downstream past regattas at Horning and Thurne Mouth before mooring up at The Stracey Arms where I made plans for navigating the Yarmouth bridges at low water the following day.
After a romp to celebrate the start of our boating break and then a settling down period, we both slept very well, waking up just before the warm-air heating started up at 7.00am. Across to Heronshaw for a shave and bath before getting the girls to join us for breakfast of toast and cereal. There was no hurry this morning and we both did a few chores at quite a measured pace. I mopped the Paxton Princess and then The Jolly as there had been a shower overnight. I was in the middle of cleaning the boat hull when the girls pronounced themselves ready for a trip to the Horning Leisure Centre and so I got them into the Jolly, locked up all else and we set off.

We had a nice coffee when we got there and then I took the Jolly back and the Range Rover into Norwich and round the ring road to University Plain. Daniel had telephoned me, and I collected him and Angela (with whom he is still going strong) and took them back with me to the centre where we all had lunch together. There was a lot of traffic around the ring road, and we avoided this by driving through the city centre. Once back to Heronshaw, Diana let them borrow her car and the rest of us set off in the Paxton Princess, stopping at King Line for some 60gals of diesel as the tanks were two-thirds empty.
Then on downstream with our new canopy maximising the sunshine spells and keeping us warm while we dodged the sailing boats in regattas at Horning and Thurne Mouth. Eventually, we moored up at the Stracey Arms and I was pleased with the television reception which was very good. I wrote up today's log and noted that the low water at Yarmouth for maximum bridge height is at four o'clock the next morning and afternoon which makes things very difficult. It was nice seeing Daniel today, even if it was briefly and at some inconvenience to us because of his latest car problems. His car is off the road again!
