Whilst Di got on with chores and then hosted a visit from her parents and the girls toddled off to school, I had a meeting with Ian & Margaret James of Onsite where I declined to sign a shareholders’ agreement and suggested the Directors consider its ongoing viability.
Some time later with Della teaching her to ride a bicycle and then trying to convene my party group before meetings with Samuel Jones executives about the latest occupation of their playing field in Little Paxton by the gypsies.
We did not go anywhere today but stayed at home to get on with our work after the girls had toddled off to school. Della now seems settled in and, after a little weep at the bus stop yesterday, she was quite happy this morning. Di concentrated on housework and her shopping and had a visit from her Mum and Dad as I first got on with all the chores in the absence of the gardener. Then a meeting with Ian & Margaret James of Onsite who came to update me on the occurrences over the last couple of months. They had done their deal with Dyfed but it had not helped a great deal as the terms were harsh and little money was raised. I was concerned to hear of other transactions that were being done against my interest and without shareholders’ approval and I declined to sign a shareholder’s resolution as I was not party to it.

I suggested they consider the position as directors about the solvency and further viability of the business and then call a proper shareholders' meeting to consider the information and approve any necessary action. By this time, it was approaching lunch and I made a few calls to try and salvage my group meeting this afternoon. Once Della was home, I gave her some lessons on riding her bike and then I let her ride on the games lawn with me only holding her lightly. I think it will be soon time for her to try by herself as she is making good progress. Then at 4.00pm, Derek arrived and, soon after, Percy but Sally was much later, and Michael did not arrive at all. Even whilst Derek was here, he was called away to the telephone to talk to his solicitor and Sally was continually interrupted by her daughters and so my group meeting was a bit frustrating to say the least. Then we found that the Gypsies had come to Little Paxton, occupying the Samuel Jones football field so that the problem is now in my hands as their local councillor. I visited the site and spoke to the Samuel Jones security guard and then to the police and company executive handling the problem. They will try to get a court order early next week and the company is intent on getting rid of them as soon as possible but I still spoke to a few people locally and warned them to keep doors and windows locked and cars secured. Another sunny day today but fresher than of late and thus more bearable.
