Sorting out the window issue with Stalham Joinery on a warm and mostly fine day as we chance upon the Bloom family in McDonalds and invited them back to Horning for the night.
I was awake early again this morning and so got up, made my drink and breakfast, shaved and then went over to unlock the shed and garage ready for the day's work. I tackled the window frames again and sanded off the first and largest of the frames ready for its second coat of wood stain. Soon I left with the family for Norwich, stopping as usual in Wroxham for morning coffee. Whilst the girls were in the library, I went over to Jewsons to discuss further materials before we went on to a few plumbing and home improvement places. No shortage of good bathroom sets at competitive prices. Lunch at McDonalds on the way back and there surprised to see Steven Bloom and family arriving as we left.

Once back at Heronshaw, I walked into a problem the workmen were having with the design of the dormer windows. As luck would have it, the representative from Stalham Joinery was also there and we worked out a way of using the faulty windows to solve the situation by having them opening square on friction hinges in the end. Steven's son Andrew did some fishing as his Dad worked and I tried to do some more varnishing before the children ate their tea. I took the rest off for dinner at The Swan Hotel afterwards. Back quite late and tipsy from the wine and then to bed on The Paxton Princess as the Blooms slept in Heronshaw for the night. Today's weather had proved warm and mostly fine with the odd shower but we had still managed to get a full day in for Alan and Dave. The news is full of violent attacks and sex scandals, and I resolve not to listen to much of it but to just carry on with my building work.
