Daniel visits and was able to join us for lunch and the cinema later as the Harnser king post Trusses started to be put up. Della’s ear infection continued but without too much discomfort and Daniel stayed overnight in Heronshaw as the rest of the family stayed aboard the Paxton Princess.
The day started fine as I woke after a slight lay in to find that Diana was also awaking. There had been rain in the night and there was to be a couple of sharp showers later, but the day's work was not appreciably interrupted. The electrician was here again today, and I spent some time first thing showing him how I wanted the lighting arranged. Then Steven arrived back with his son Andrew and so there was four of them on site. I was just about to take the girls out for Della's doctor's appointment when our Daniel drove up and was able to join us for the trip into Wroxham.

Della was diagnosed as still having her ear infected and had to continue having ear drops and come back to see the doctor in another ten days as we expected. At least she does not seem to be still getting her ear-ache, even though her ear is still inflamed. We all had a drink and snack at the Riverside Cafe and then, whilst Daniel went shopping with Di and Della, I took Debbie over to Jewsons and then back to Horning where I worked on some building administration whilst she washed her hair. All together again for lunch at The Hotel Wroxham and then we paid a visit to Wroxham Barns, returning to Heronshaw in mid-afternoon. I found that the building work had progressed quite well and they had raised the ridge tree and some rafters on the open end of the boat-house and were shaping and fitting the king posts.
Steven seemed to be hanging around and so I re-organised the work and got him helping me with other work whilst Alan and Dave finished off the boat-house work for the day. We got on well with Steve clearing the beds and me cutting, preparing and then staining the remaining window frame but Steve seemed to take offence at being reassigned which was a pity. It is a difficult balance maintaining a friendly and informal site whilst keeping everyone working efficiently and none the easier for having one of their number as a friend and employee as well.
Daniel was some help in the early evening shredding up most of the vegetation whilst I finished applying the first coat of woodstain to the last window frame and then I had a quick bath and took the whole family to the cinema in Norwich. We enjoyed a funny film called "Beethoven" all about the exploits of a St Bernard dog which we all found good, but the girls were absolutely chuffed with. Back to Heronshaw, Daniel into bed in my room there and then the rest of us back to The Paxton Princess and to our bunks with me just finding time to update my journal before I joined them.
