Working at home grumpy and tired after a late night trying to source timber for the Heronshaw rebuild and Peacock worries as somebody is trying to get our local bird caught and removed
I was far too late to bed yesterday and suffered for it this morning by being rather groggy and bad-tempered. Spent the whole day at home trying to catch up on paperwork but found the whole process rather heavy going. My biggest task was to chase the suppliers of timber for quotations, and this was almost impossible and I will probably have to settle for buying from Jewsons of Wroxham. Then a decision on who to employ to build it.

I called Nigel and Steven and then decided to employ the carpenters directly as the builders were too slow. I will go up overnight tomorrow and take the matter further. Bad news tonight in the form of a news item in the local paper about Joan Radcliffe of Gordon Road trying to get the Wood Green Animal Shelter to catch and remove our local peacock. I thought that it had been nowhere to be seen since I came back from Scotland. I called one or two people locally to sound out their views and I think that it will be sorely missed and that somebody has acted prematurely.
