A family day at home in the sunshine hosting plenty of visitors at The Hayling View whilst archiving my journal and watching televised football. Giving Debbie some tennis practice in the evening
Diana let us all in having a lay in this morning and, by the time I was showered and dressed and had my breakfast, it was after 9.30am. My morning chores took rather a long time as I not only fed the doves, fish and watered the plants but also went around the house undoing all of the French Windows for the start of what I guessed would be a very warm day. As the day went on, there were more and more visitors. Daniel's friend Gary came to see him and then Steven and Jason and, for Debbie and Della, Amy and Catherine Law were next to arrive, followed by their parents!

We had a nice Sunday Lunch in between all of these comings and goings and then I was trying to archive these last two months' journal as all this was going on. My second distraction was the European Championship Football where England could only draw 0-0 against France, leaving themselves a mountain to climb in order to qualify for the semi-final. Nevertheless, I got my task done and welcomed the good use to which our visitors were putting of The Hayling View facilities. It was another very hot and sunny day and I chose to stay out of most of it. I had morning coffee outside in the shade of our oak tree and gave Debbie some tennis practice late in the evening.
It was a pity that both Debbie and Della ended up having a row with Amy and Catherine, but at least Daniel's friends ended up happy and went off together to the cinema this evening. The blackbirds nesting in our back garden seemed to be very alarmed this evening as their chicks left the nest and were probably taken by local cats.
