On another dry and basically chilly day, I struggled to cope with Sam and wrote letters of apology to the village hall officers for missing last night's meeting and then Debbie had her Paxton friends round and Lisa Gunn joined them to make it five swimming and playing tennis.
Nigel changed our arrangements for visiting the Diss gun-smith from Thursday to Friday but Diana and I will now go to Norfolk in two cars on that day and meet up in Norwich for lunch later.
Another dry but basically chilly day. I had trouble sleeping last night, my mind full of my favourite film and also of the silliness of missing the meeting. I was awake later again and struggled to get out to Sam and the absence of droppings in his kennel was suspicious. After being better lately, he was picking up other dogs' droppings again whilst out on his walk this morning which is a very annoying and disgusting habit that I must solve him of. Della went off to play with another Katie from school today but Debbie still had her Paxton friends round and Lisa Gunn joined them to make it five swimming and playing tennis.

Better news about Diana’s car damage and both Debbie and Della had friends coming round and so the place was full of girls that never stopped wrestling, swimming, screaming and shouting. The weather was quite cold today with a chilly breeze but it stayed dry and the pool was warm and in excess of 80degF.
Debbie had four friends due to stay all day and all night for a "sleep-over" and I helped them set up the tennis net on the games lawn. More chores and work for me as I completely forgot the Village Hall A.G.M.
Still getting up rather too late in the morning but Sam remains quite flexible and had another good day. It was a good day for the rest of us as well. We had a call from the lady who dented Diana's car first thing and she at last conceded that an examination of her car revealed a scuff mark on her bumper and so she must have done the damage in the Waitrose Car Park!. We agreed that Di's car be taken into Hunts Motors for examination today with a view to getting it repaired at her cost and that came as a great relief to Di who had not taken the precaution of recording the witness's details. I had succeeded in bluffing the lady into admission.

Easter Bank Holiday Monday at home which started with a long lay in until 9am. Daniel and I started commissioning the swimming pool for the season after which I saw British drivers doing well in Formula 1.
No sign of Mrs Doyle who was supposed to come after damaging Diana’s car. This evening I attended a meeting of the Little Paxton Village Hall Trustees.
The latest talking point is the murder of a Scottish tourist in New Orleans so that all the world now sees the dangers of visiting America.
I was awake once or twice in the night but then we all slept in until after 9.00am, the latest I think that we have ever managed. In truth, we were all still affected by the transatlantic time change and were sleeping until, what were to us, the early hours of the morning. I got up, dressed and went straight out to see to Sam but, to his credit, he was not too alarmed at having to wait. I took him for a long walk and then, upon coming back, I was roped in by Daniel to get the swimming pool cover off and the vicinity up and running.

Easter (Sun)Day with the family making a slow start for our shopping opportunities at Roy’s, then a visit to Wroxham Barns to enjoy the travelling fair and a booked lunch.
After the rain stopped and the sun came out, a nice trip to the beach at Winterton before stopping on pur way home in Potter Heigham. Sometime in Horning before setting off home to Paxton
I never remembered Easter Sunday being called Easter Day before the last couple of years and I think that this must be a new fad. I was first awake by a long chalk and, after waiting even longer in vain for the others to stir, I got shaved, washed and dressed and went out to feed and exercise the dog. I saw a couple of neighbours walking their dogs and both of their families had not stirred either. Whilst the religious community try to emphasise the significance of Easter (with new holiday names) and complain of people just treating it as a shopping and holiday occasion, they are misled; the population at large treat it as a sleeping day!
