Virtually this whole fine, dry but breezy day working on my late Mum’s estate arrangements with calls, messages and faxes as we get many acceptances from invitations for what promised to be a very well-attended funeral.
Some time with Sam who was making good progress with his training and I hope to be able to take him for his second pointer club session on Sunday. John Elwell had repaired the vandalised style properly and protected the wood with a metal plate
Just about the whole day attending to my late mother's arrangements during which I telephoned, faxed and wrote to numerous contacts about all manner of matters. We had quite a few telephone calls replying to the funeral notices and they were just about all accepting the invitations so that there should be a good turnout to see Mum off. The Hunts Post also came out today and our announcement was safely included. I also had time to tend to the girls on their second day back at school and give Sam two good long runs. He is making good progress with his training and I hope to be able to take him for his second pointer club training session on Sunday.

Working on my late Mum’s estate arrangements after coaxing Della through her speech-making and journey to the school bus on a fine, warm and sunny day. Then spending some time with Nigel
I spent just about the whole day working on Mum's affairs, but took a couple of long walks with Sam to break things up and then drove over to see Nigel this evening to make some arrangements. It was a fine and warm day, with the sun very much in evidence. but it was also the first day back at school for the girls. It was Della that I was thinking of as I awoke at 7.00am. She had been up until after midnight worrying about this day and even then had not written her speech that she had to do for homework. I helped with that this morning and also ensured that she had her morning piggy-back ride and every other type of assurance culminating in me walking her to the bus-stop with Sam to see them off.

A long session composing all of the funeral invitations, but also breaking off to successfully tackle the errant motorcyclist that had been using the footpath and apparently demolished the style, involving the police and HDC accordingly.
Diana and the girls took advantage of the warm and sunny day and gone off for a day's enjoyment at Wicksteed Park.
This day was dominated by the need to get the details of the funeral off to the long list of family and friends but first I had breakfast with the family and then had to attend to Sam. It was and I took him along the Hayling Path to the Little Paxton Nature Reserve to see if the nightingale was still singing which it was. I was annoyed to find that a stile had been sawn through and removed and immediately suspected the motorcyclist from number 69 Gordon Road that I had heard and seen motor-cycling past our house on the footpath after midnight last night and with whom I had remonstrated with recently.

Undertaking funeral arrangements by visiting Cobbolds of St Neots and registration formalities at Stowmarket and composing and sending the invitations to as many relatives and friends that I could find amongst Mum’s papers.
Also taking care of Sam and walking him opposite which cleared my mind but made me concerned about the weedkiller used there
I had some urgent arrangements to complete for Mum today but first I had to see to Sam and took him for a walk over the meadow opposite. The grass still smelled of weed killer and I saw the weeds curling up and so I had cause to worry about Sam and regretted taking him there afterwards. Once back, I had to return a call to Cobbolds and arranged to visit their St Neots office later in the morning. I also made a couple of calls to friends to tell them of my predicament in case they wondered what I was doing for the next few days.
