With Nigel for a planned shopping trip for guns to the Greater London area, having got up even earlier and attended to Sam. I could not get my preferred Remington 243, but Nigel bought a Parke Hale and two microscopes for his biology hobby
Nigel was round quite early to pick me up for a shopping trip to the Greater London area, but I had got up even earlier and attended to Sam and had him fed and exercised ready to spend the day out in the garden for a change. He survived the experience and did not worry Diana and the family very much which was good news for the forthcoming couple of weeks that Daniel is due to look after him. Nigel did the driving and we arrived at the gun shop in Barnet just after they had opened at 9.30am. It was surprisingly busy, and we had to share the time of the proprietor with half a dozen others before we were attended to.

After a morning of end-of-year tax planning and reconciliation of credit card accounts, I took Diana out to Peterborough afterwards shopping and we sat and drank tea and coffee on a beautifully sunny and warm afternoon. A late night watching a sad film about the slow recovery of a young girl
The normal routine and then a morning of paperwork before lunch. I was still working my way through the end-of-year tax planning and reconciling credit card accounts and managed to get our VISA card problem cleared up and then did the tax avoidance transactions that were wise for the trusts. I took Diana out to Peterborough afterwards to get some more dog food and biscuits and we stopped on the way back and had a nice mug of tea (coffee for Di) in a lay-by.

Viewing properties for investment with Mary Bloom on Budget Day which revealed the Stamp Duty threshold being raised to £60,000 saving us around £400 on each houses bought. A lot of extra tax on car fuel, VAT on household fuels and more for the NHI.
Also helping Sandie Giles with her election plans and literature at the same time, editing her text, helping the girls with their homework and then updating this last two days' journal.
I tough time with Sam today. Perhaps I was less patient with him and he was also under the weather and having more problems with the reduced mealtimes, but he ran off once and was quite difficult for the rest of the time. The weather took a turn for the worse; dull with a cold wind again, and my cold was getting very uncomfortable and on my chest. Since having much exposure to secondary cigarette smoke in my business years, I always seem to have breathing difficulties when I have a cold and I hate this as it makes communication difficult and uncomfortable. I finished off some correspondence this morning and then drove into St Neots to get a haircut and deliver my letters by hand where I could. I also ordered $2000 in $10's and $20's for our holiday next week.

Three more walks with Sam on Paperwork and Office Day gloriously mild and warm day with Spring around the corner.
Also inside working away at my affairs and getting the administration in order ahead of the U.S. trip as my cold was coming on badly and I had to take a headache tablet later.
The end of the fishing season is now upon us and the hordes of anglers that were out this weekend are now gone
It was a gloriously mild and warm day - quite spring-like. Apart from walking the dog three times as usual, I spent a lot of today working away at my affairs and getting the administration in order ahead of the U.S. trip. Diana made us a nice healthy lunch of fresh soup, organic bread and pie and ice cream to follow. The gardener was working away at shredding all of the garden rubbish, but I left him to it; having no desire to be distracted into long social discourse. Many arrangements put into train but more still to make. A conveyancing solicitor was chosen and potential letting agents and valuers circulated.
