Welcoming Diana’s family visitors to Horning after a morning walking Sam and welcoming Roger Edmonds to help with ground works.
With Daniel, Diana and her parents to see Norwich and The Harnser , enjoy morning coffee in Jarrolds, shopping in Norwich and then lunch at The Olde Tea Shoppe in Horning before afternoon tea together.
Some boat repairs and a little time helping Daniel with his, before Steve arrived and cooked plaice for dinner.
Awake rather earlier than I would have liked but then was out in good time with Sam for a nice walk. Roger Edmunds then heralded the arrival of the dumper truck operator and there then followed a succession of loads of bark chippings that I ordered as scrambled around, spreading each of them before the next one arrived! I left them spreading a couple of loads of granite chippings in front of the garage and left for Norwich as I was meeting Daniel, Diana and her parents.

A poor night of sleep and awake to a cold and frosty morning. To the vet with Sam where he got the ‘all clear’ for his medical test and then some shopping and lunch in Wroxham. To Lowestoft to get the latest charts and updates and then back for a tea of herrings and cockles.
Some calls to and from home and an upsetting experience having to leave an overly pregnant women walking after her car broke down.
A poorish night, unable to sleep very well until far too late and then woken early for Sam. At least my Teasmade worked well and I awoke to breakfast on a frosty and cold morning. The pity is that, to get sunshine and clear skies during early March days, the weather leads to cold and frosty nights to go with it. I just had time to smooth over the riverside lawn where the wood pile had been before I had to load Sam up for the trip to see his vet in Norwich. We were just on time and went straight in to see the vet who put Sam up on to the examination bench and listened to his heart with a stethoscope. She took a worryingly long time before announcing that she had found nothing at all wrong with his heart and was willing to sign the insurance form accordingly.

After a tiring start to the day, getting the girls off to school and then making a property offer for 23 Almond Road, St Neots. Taking Di for a Little Chef lunch after hearing of many local burglaries and then driving off to Norfolk.
Settling into Harnser and then up until late sorting out my planning, computer navigation and dog-training papers and then my bath, journal and bed.
I was tired this morning after all the exertion and needing to take two head-ache tablets last night before going to bed. I laid in bed until having to get up and ready quickly for breakfast with the girls. Out to Sam and I fed him before going together to the bus stop to see Debbie and Della off to school. A much nicer and milder day with the sun shining and breeze coming from the south-east for once. I worked in my office for what was left of the morning, transacting Daniel's affairs for the end of his tax year and making an offer for 23 Almond Road before taking Diana out to the Little Paxton Little Chef for lunch.

A full day steadying Sam to the anglers on Mill meadow and frying the family breakfast before driving to David Winser at Wistow and doing some trial exercises with Sam before heading for the GSP Club at Harlow.
A busy training session with 30 other dogs went quite well and then back to go with Di to Debbie's Kimbolton school parents evening
I was woken early this morning by a river duck quacking inanely and then rose on my own as it was the morning for the family to lay in. A good walk with Sam, brushing up on his obedience training for the afternoon and walked him off the lead at heel past a whole row of anglers on Mill Meadow for good measure. Then back to cook the family fried breakfast which was quite an event with the results well appreciated. Diana made me a packed lunch so that I could get out early with Sam for the trip to see the other HPR enthusiasts.
