Converting Nos 50-52 Cambridge Street. into four flats in Fox Brook Court

Working with gardener Pete to continue muck spreading on the games lawn and plant beds and then meeting with Andy Carmichael of the HDC Planning Department who was amenable to our plans for converting Nos 50-52 Cambridge Street. into four flats.

Then to my gardening as I needed the physical exercise as my weight has gone up to over fourteen and a half stone. Daniel saw Dawn last night and had a letter from Angela and then rushed out to post a letter tonight to keep his correspondence going.

The milder and dry weather of late continued today and the gardener was able to finish off the spreading of the lawn top-dressing after I had given him his instructions. I kept clear and let him get on with it but, after he had finished work at lunchtime, I went out and spread most of the remaining mature compost heap onto the plant beds in the front garden. My aim is to create the space that I need for shredding the remainder of our garden rubbish and the leaves that are now falling fast and also to possibly build a bonfire for Guy Fawkes night

The family went to the Kimbolton School event as Nigel had not invited us to his bonfire party this year. I might have a small one for the family at home and combine this pleasure with the disposal of much rubbish. Sam continued to progress at his lessons with two good sessions today. I had a meeting this morning in Huntingdon with Andy Carmichael of the HDC Planning Department and I found him quite amenable to our plans for Cambridge Street. He saw no planning issues in the conversion of the inside of Nos 50-52 into four flats and there only remained the siting of the new access and car parking which I was invited to discuss with the CCC Highways Officer and HDC Tree Officer respectively. I saw several senior officers that I knew from my times past as a councillor and passed the time of day with them before leaving.

Of most interest was a full-scale bomb alert that was in progress during my visit and I emerged to the sight of a bomb disposal squad with their mobile robot unloaded and ready for action with a local lady journalist taking pictures! Home for a late lunch and then my gardening. I need the physical exercise at the moment as my weight has gone up to over fourteen and a half stone. This evening reading the newspapers and then updating my journal and starting some overdue paperwork once I had finished helping the girls with their homework. Daniel saw Dawn last night and had a letter from Angela and then rushed out to post a letter tonight to keep his correspondence going.
