After a training walk with Sam, joining Diana, Della and her friend Michelle for a Cambridge visit to see Charles and Norma and we enjoyed a Happy Eater meal on the way home. Wiggly was reporting conflict at work and within the St Neots LibDem group.

Woken by my Psion at 7.00am and then had to chase Diana for a cup of tea on this practice morning for getting up for school tomorrow.

Shaved and washed and went down to breakfast in my pyjamas, not sure whether to join the family for the visit to Cambridge.

We were trying to persuade Debbie to come too but she was insistent that she should do revision instead. A walk with Sam and I found that he was quite good handling the retrieving the dummy.

Then changed to join the others and off to Cambridge, parking up at The Round Church car park before 10.00am. We had Michelle Brown along with Della for the visit to Charles & Norma and had to keep Michelle's cold away from Grandma because of her susceptibility to chest infections.

In fact, it was Charles that was cause for most concern to us suffering from chronic arthritis and a toothache like mine which was going untreated.

We split up for our time there and I went to look at information on "palm-top computers" in book shops and office equipment suppliers. All together again at midday at the car park and lunch at The Happy Eater on the way home.

I ate little because the crack in my tooth was opening and painful when subjected to temperature changes or pressure. I tried to bring forward my dental appointment but failed.

Some little time at home before loading up Sam and his travel box and going over to Eynesbury to run him briefly at The Coneygear before collecting Wiggly for our monthly trip to the Cambridge Clinic 1a where thankfully we were both pronounced clear of problems.

She was full of news of the latest troubles within the Town Council LibDems. group where John Roscoe is now the divisive force. Also, of her Unilever company politics where much time and energy (mainly her own) is expended in a most disorganised fashion.

Most of all, though, she misses sleeping with me at night but, because she is so busy, we are going through a thin patch for that at the moment even though we did scheme something for next week.

I went back to her place and shared her prawn/rice creation and then stayed for a cuddle on the sofa until it was time for the first of her two meetings. I will now not be able to either see her or speak to her until Friday as she goes abroad for a business meeting.

Back to Paxton where Sam settled well and Di was quite oblivious to my comings and goings so all was well. She was more upset at Kettering Leisure Centre being closed when she got there so they had to go bowling in Bedford instead.

I spent the latter part of this evening archiving around a third of my December journal and still remained much behind. Pete came round today and enlarged one of the loft hatches and installed the first extending stairways.

Russian forces continue the pounding of the remining rebel Chechen town of Grozny despite the lower Russian House of Parliament trying to stop the bloodshed and debating the powers of the President and use of the Army.
