A single Red Grouse shot today and then too much whisky later.

A single grouse shot for our morning efforts at Thormaid and then a recreational trip to John O'Groats to watch the harbour before too much whisky later.

With no alarm to wake us, it was after 8.00am before I stirred first and made a cup of tea.

Then, despite us being late for breakfast, Wiggly seduced me into satisfying her with some dedicated oral sex before we both showered, washed our hair, and eventually let Mrs MacGregor and Millie make our breakfast.

I rested after as Wiggly tried walking and feeding Sam in the hotel garden. Sam behaved well and Wiggly managed easily. Loaded up, dressed in warm and weatherproof clothing and then over to Broubster to try my luck again.

The weather had been wet and windy overnight and much of the snow had melted but surfaces were very slippery with black ice everywhere.

Sam was quite fit and his paw seemed to be healing properly and he certainly ran out well and quartered the difficult ground of ditches and young trees.

I asked Wiggly and she carried the .243 rifle in case we came across any deer, and I had the AYA over my arm when a brace of grouse got up and I winged one.

Poor Wiggly was quite shocked as I twirled it round to dislocate its neck and killed it, hated the blood and loathed me putting the dead grouse in the game pocket of her Barbour.

She was upset with me and did not enjoy the rest of the morning, particularly as she could not keep up with my striding out in the rough ground covered by the remains of the snow.

I took her back to the car and then set off for a recreational trip to John O'Groats and we sat in the car and watched the harbour before having some tea and carrot cake in the nearby cafe.

I bought some cards for Wiggly, and she wrote them and posted them so as to get the authentic postmark. The drive back to Forss House and a walk for Sam along the Forss river before he had his dinner and medicine and was put down for the night.

Baths for both of us before dinner and a nice new technique where we could both sit with our backs away from the hot and cold taps.

A nice meal but I was given a large strong double whisky and this, in addition to the double we had in the room and the bottle of red wine made me feel quite the worse for drink by the end of the evening.

I was up a few times in the night as a result and was a pretty poor lover for Wiggly.
