More than 40 years, told day by day
Struggling to get used to my new sleeping arrangements with Diana and then to buy new dish washing machine whilst finding some time for Sam quartering at Molesworth.
Then a message from Wiggly to report that she was heavy with cold, she was sick at 3.00pm and spent the rest of the day in bed. Being quite hopeless and pitiful and did not know what to do and wanted desperately to speak to me.
News of horrific floods and storms in Italy, the worst for a century with 43 people known dead and another 50 missing as buildings collapsed and bridges swept away. A trawler is missing in the North Sea with its crew of twelve.
It was a night of adjustment again as Diana and I slept together in this huge bed of ours. Even with the seven foot width, I still managed to get over her side as I was too close to the open doors on a cold night.

Daimon Hill and the Williams team outsmarted Michael Schumacker and the Benneton team to win a rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix.
More Sunday Times revelations about the Prince and Princess of Wales and now ex-minister David Mellor

Running Sam and then working on Daniel’s boat before off to Norwich for shopping and football which was a poor match with very few goal-scoring opportunities and both Everton and Norwich City's tactics of hoofing the ball forward did not help.
Then a splendid seafood meal at Brummell's Seafood Restaurant. The journey home and there Wiggly was well gone and no trouble to satisfy.
I was not in too much of a hurry to get up this morning, but Sam was whining and needed his run. I took him to the fields opposite Horning village but just exercised him and did not do any training.

After walking Sam and the girls to the bus stop, collecting Wiggly and staying a while at her p[lace before driving from Paxton to Norfolk, stopping at Grantchester and Cambridge for a pub lunch and some chores.
An appalling Frankenstein film at the Odeon and then an unsettled night at Harnser as the builders had been demolishing the Dunham’s place prior to rebuilding Timmerslot.
Up at a reasonable time and out with Sam, accompanying the girls on their walk to the bus stop. Back to pack whilst Diana got ready for her regular Friday shopping trip.

Celebrating my 48th Birthday at home with the family away from Wiggly and wondering about the passage of time and state of my relationships.
Appreciating some nice gifts and getting my present month's journal up to date.
Then sharing the afternoon between correspondence and some exercise and training for Sam.
It was with some circumspection that I approached my 48th birthday.

Appreciating the arrival of a huge new bed with Diana, pigeon shooting at Molesworth before and after lunch with Wiggly chatting about our situation.
Then with the family to see the Kimbolton Fireworks display
I had called and left a message with Robert Ward yesterday about shooting on his land today and I got up early today with this in mind.
