Replanting the pond water lilies on another sunny but cool day after being uprooted by the hungry Koi during our absence and then running the sprinkler all day to water a parched garden. The rest of the day on my financial affairs, reconciling bank accounts and completing transactions for the last tax year, stopping to take the family to the Little Chef for lunch and then Daniel for a driving lesson later. TV film shows Chinese troops killing thousands of peacefully protesting students and of a gas pipeline explosion killing hundreds in Russia
I slept very soundly after a somewhat late night. By contrast, Diana was restless after going to bed much earlier – she must have got used to Wroxham! After an early breakfast, I started work on the conservatory, replanting the waterlilies that the hungry Koi had uprooted and ensuring both they and the plants were well attended. Another sunny but cool day and, with the garden looking quite parched I ran the lawn sprinkler all day and that to keep moving it. Then the start of the day at my paperwork. I first cleared my desk and sorted out all of the urgent financial transactions. I reconciled my bank accounts was quite a game stop at lunchtime, I decided to take the family to the Little Chef to give Di a break and chance to gain time for her washing and ironing.

Debbie was out at Offord, riding and looking after her pony and then she went off with Emma Nagle on a birthday outing.. I worked on this afternoon, keying in the financial transactions of the last tax year into my computer and just about worked out my 1988/9 income by the end of the day. I will need to meet my accountant soon to plan the purchase of the Wroxham property and its financial management. Later this evening, I took Daniel for a driving lesson, wrote up my journal and watched a little TV with Diana before bed. The news today was of horrifying TV film of the Chinese troops killing thousands of Chinese students peacefully protesting. Another disaster in Russia, as a gas pipeline explodes killing hundreds of passengers aboard to trains that happen to be passing.
