Driving my Rolls Royce to Cambridge for a hospital check-up after us both were advised that we had a good time to come! A mammoth task removing all the books from my office and packing everything away so as to make the office ready for the workman to survey for the refurbishment
This morning I had the indignity of having to collect a urine sample and then I could have no breakfast as I had to be in a "starved" state for my Eveleyn Hospital appointment. This was not so much of a hardship really and Diana brought me a fresh glass of water for my morning drink! I got out and to this hospital in Cambridge without too much difficulty and the receptionist, nurse and doctor were very pleasant and efficient over the check-up. I had previously completed a long and enquiring form which dealt with every aspect of my medical history and this was passed to the doctor on arrival whilst I was weighed and measured. I was 13st 9lbs and 6ft 5ins in my customary posture. I had a blood sample taken and this, with my urine, will be analysed by laboratory.

Then I could have some coffee and biscuits before a consultation with the doctor. We discussed any relevant problems I have, and I was reassured about my sore left eye, foot scald and the stinging sensation I often get in the crease of my left thigh. The matter of my highly coloured urine, frequency of passing water and past history of urinary infections will have to wait the analysis of my blood and urine and they will write to me accordingly in 3/4 weeks time. The doctor (a lady) did examine my Prostate anally (an unsettling experience) and could not find it enlarged but I still suspect liver or kidney problems but I hope I am wrong. I took the Rolls Royce to Cambridge and back and the car worked fine and went through the 100,000 miles mark. I was relieved the other day when the service engineer said that the engine was good for another 100,000! Also had the routine work today; briefing the gardener, tending the conservatory etc and doing some more correspondence and then I took Daniel to lunch at the Little Chef as Di had already eaten. This evening, I had a mammoth task removing all the books from my office and packing everything away so as to make the office ready for the workman to survey the re-furbishment tomorrow morning.
