The father of Debbie’s old riding friend Sarah Morby arrives and installs our first Satellite TV aerial, and some local boys visit looking for jobs and wanting to see my Koi carp.
A huge oil spill that is growing and spreading southwards along the western coast of the Gulf from an off-shore oil terminal and scuttled tankers. Another Scud attack tonight on both Saudi Arabia and Israel, with Tel Aviv getting most of them. Over two dozen Iraqi planes have sought protection in neutral Iran and will be held there for the duration of the war.
We had a very disturbed and disrupted day today. I was up a little late and then had breakfast with Daniel and Daniella after Debbie had gone off to school. We were expecting Mr Morbey to come and fit two new TV aerials this morning and was waiting around for his arrival. It was late morning before he arrived and then he worked on until mid-afternoon to get the items fitted. With him, was his daughter Sarah (an old riding friend of Debbie from Offord) and she played with Debbie for a while this afternoon as he finished off the job. The end result was very good for the reception of a wide range of TV programmes and we were well pleased.

After tea, I resumed working on my political mail shots and then drove them round to Percy later for him to process further. Apart from the TV aerial being fitted, we also had numerous visits from local boys who were trying to help with my gardening and then taking a look at my Koi carp. The news today is of the politics of the huge oil spill that is growing and spreading southwards along the western coast of the Gulf. The US were insisting that these were being deliberately created by the Iraqis and the counter claim was that it was caused by US bombing raids on tankers. Now the US says that it is from five tankers being scuttled and also from an off-shore loading terminal that is pumping oil into the sea and has also been set on fire. Another Scud attack tonight on both Saudi Arabia and Israel, with Tel Aviv getting most of them. Over two dozen Iraqi planes have sought protection in neutral Iran and will be held there for the duration of the war.
