Cruise from The Stracey Arms to Great Yarmouth, navigating the Bure Bridges and mooring up at The Town Hall Quay where Daniel joined us for the day to enjoy a McDonalds lunch and visit to the Pleasurebeach.
After he left, we went to the cinema and found three Dutch yachts moored alongside upon our return, making it difficult for the night.
We slept well last night, and I had a bit of a lay in this morning as the girls went ahead of me into the shower. In fact, I had forgotten the routine after several months and was very slow even when I got started! Diana and I left the girls and walked off to the Stracey Arms shop to get some groceries and then we un-moored and set off for Yarmouth and had arrived inside two hours. We had been concerned about the state of the tide and as to whether we would be able to get under the Bure and Haven bridges, but we need not have worried as we had 2/3ft to spare, even within a couple of hours of high tide. We therefore moored up at the Town Quay which was empty and were joined there by Daniel who had come to join us for the day.

Some time with Di and then across to Heronshaw for a shave and bath before mopping the boats and taking the girls over to the Horning Leisure Centre for a swim. Then the trip into Norwich to collect Daniel and Angela to lend him Di’s car before we cast off.
Downstream past regattas at Horning and Thurne Mouth before mooring up at The Stracey Arms where I made plans for navigating the Yarmouth bridges at low water the following day.
After a romp to celebrate the start of our boating break and then a settling down period, we both slept very well, waking up just before the warm-air heating started up at 7.00am. Across to Heronshaw for a shave and bath before getting the girls to join us for breakfast of toast and cereal. There was no hurry this morning and we both did a few chores at quite a measured pace. I mopped the Paxton Princess and then The Jolly as there had been a shower overnight. I was in the middle of cleaning the boat hull when the girls pronounced themselves ready for a trip to the Horning Leisure Centre and so I got them into the Jolly, locked up all else and we set off.

Di and the girls arrive in Horning for a family boat trip aboard The Jolly later after I had provisioned in Wroxham and we had worked on Heronshaw earlier. Later, Debbie and Della had a bath and then we returned to the Paxton Princess to settle down for the night after a day alternating between dull and sunny but mild and with no wind to speak of
I went to bed quite late last night and then woke up early this morning but I did not miss the sleep - just felt physically tired after all of the hard work yesterday. A little quicker through my washing and breakfast routine and then out quite early to start work. I left the washing up and got to work inside the boat; doing the most important service items as there was not time to do all of them. This consisted of checking the engine oil and coolant levels, cleaning out the water intake filters and then topping up the ship’s batteries. I made a list of all of the important items I had to buy and then went into Wroxham after lunch to get them. I had intended to go earlier but my cellular telephone managed to work from Heronshaw and so I could telephone Diana from here Horning in the morning.
