A bright and sunny morning which became quite hot after overnight thunderstorm with torrential rain which made moving the dredgings more difficult to move today, day but it had to be done.
On a shopping trip to Wroxham, I heard all about the tragic fire which ended the Excel electrical shop business which was underinsured. Then the drive home to hear more about the peacock tale.
We were both awake quite early, it being difficult to sleep in on such nice bright morning with the birds singing away. Our night had been disturbed by another thunderstorm and more torrential rain which was to make my mud even more difficult to move. When it is dry, it is just like light fibrous peat but when wet, it is stodgy and heavy. I really ought to have left it for longer but the necessity of getting the boat-shed foundation prepared had to take precedence. Steven joined me for breakfast after all and then I drove him into Wroxham where he was to spend the day helping Christine get her boat prepared for the season.

Completing some necessary paper-work, reconciling bank accounts and paying bills after which I could then set off to Norfolk with Steven to find much dredging completed and heaps of mud awaiting distribution and spreading. After a good day's work, we went to The Bridge Restaurant in Wroxham for a splendid meal and both slept soundly afterwards
I had been in touch with Steven and arranged for us to go together to Norfolk today but first I had to do some chores and some paperwork whilst the weather cleared up from the early drizzle. The morning post came full of bank account statements to reconcile and there were other bills to pay etc and these took some time to sort out. I had to have a quick look at the swimming pool which seemed to be going a bit cloudy and in need of some 'Supershock' Chlorine.

Working at home grumpy and tired after a late night trying to source timber for the Heronshaw rebuild and Peacock worries as somebody is trying to get our local bird caught and removed
I was far too late to bed yesterday and suffered for it this morning by being rather groggy and bad-tempered. Spent the whole day at home trying to catch up on paperwork but found the whole process rather heavy going. My biggest task was to chase the suppliers of timber for quotations, and this was almost impossible and I will probably have to settle for buying from Jewsons of Wroxham. Then a decision on who to employ to build it.

The day catching up at home, sorting out my office and winding down my collection of Council papers, but continuing the quest for a proper Paxton to Longsands school bus service.
I still managed a trip to see Nigel, a walk around Paxton Pits nature reserve to admire the nightingales and some work on timber supplies for Horning and work needed for the Range Rover.
European plans have been thrown into confusion by the people of Denmark rejecting the Maastricht Treaty in a referendum.
I was sound asleep when woken at 7.00am and It took me some time to revive. After getting showered, washing my hair and shaving, I still made breakfast with the girls who both started their exams today. Once they were off, I went to my office and began sorting out several layers of debris that had accumulated since the election campaign and, by lunchtime, I was still at it and getting tired and hungry. The process continued after lunch until had packaged up all of my old council papers and was ready to drop them off at John Brown's house in Perry.
