A quieter warm but showery day in Horning, walking Sam and then driving on to Potter Heigham to look at fishing tackle. A family lunch at The Old Tea Shoppe in Horning village and then back to work on the store room.
Then walking Sam again as the girls went roller skating again. England lost their world cup qualifying match 2-0 to Norway.
Sam was quieter this morning which meant that I had a slight lay in and was woken with a cup of morning tea. The day started fine and sunny and I got quite warm giving Sam his early walk. Diana opened up all of the windows and doors expecting this warmth to continue but the sky clouded over and it started raining later on. We opted to spend most of the time at Harnser having a rest, but Diana and I did go out in the morning, collected our bed cover from dress-maker Jean and then drove on to Potter Heigham so that I could have a better look at fishing tackle. .

Back to take the girls over to Horning village for lunch at The Old Tea Shoppe. I settled for just soup and put Diana to shame as she followed up with an ice cream. I am determined to reduce weight as now my stomach is preventing me bending at the waist. This afternoon, I emptied out the store room (off of the boat shed) and, after driving to Wroxham to buy some materials, then filled the holes and painted the architrave and skirting ready for the small room to be papered with lining paper as the next job. I removed the door and, during a lull in the rain, sawed it in half lengthways, planning to fit some more brass hinges so that the door would open up concertina fashion and take up less space.
I worked on at this project for the rest of the day but took time out to exercise Sam again and watch a demotivating game of international football on the TV where England lost their world cup qualifying match 2-0 to Norway. Diana took Debbie and her neighbourhood friend Amy off to roller-skating in Norwich this evening so that they also met Daniel and his new girlfriend Dawn. Amy said that Dawn's blonde hair was dyed! A dull end to a day on which the rain fell but it stayed warm and I was able to be outside getting things done.
