I awoke today to hear that the Irish Government are pressing for Britain to follow its example and to end the anti-terrorist laws.

A one-pound Semtex bomb has been defused in Belfast but the IRA have distanced themselves from a similar incident recently.
Four paratroupers have been only sentenced to community service for assaulting a man in Aldershot and this has drawn criticism from the local MP. The Princess of Wales has secured the return of some photographs taken at a private gymnasium and received an apology from Mirror Group newspapers.
More animal rights demonstrations, this time at the docks, have been overcome by police tactics and the animals were loaded regardless. I had a real rush around this morning as I had decided to try to get over to Carrow Road for the evening's cup replay match against Coventry and had agreed to do so with Jim as well.
This meant an early walk for Sam, seeing the girls off at the bus stop and then using the only fifteen minutes I had left to arrange some urgent matters. In fact, I extended this time to ninety minutes by putting back my clinic appointment and this helped considerably.
First a call to my tax adviser with a range of queries on the draft tax returns that had been prepared from the information I had provided. It seemed that everything is well in hand so that we could sign our forms accordingly. T
hen to discuss the present position of the trusts and our own personal affairs for end of the year tax transactions for which we are well under control for once. Calls also to Wiggly's work and home to leave messages about tonight, then to the Redgrave property agency to progress things there and to Percy to give him an update after last night.
Arrangements with Julie for tea tonight prior to the match and then time to pack and go for Cambridge.
Poor news from my clinic examination there was the flat wart-like patches were a cause for concern so that I had to stay and have a biopsy. I had also been quite embarrassed at being examined by a woman doctor and a trainee, particularly as they spent a long time doing it and then sat gazing at my penis as they talked!
More than that, however, I was worried about what a cut and stitch would do to my lovemaking with Wiggly tonight!
The journey on to Norfolk and first to Carrow Road where I bought tickets for several future games as well as the ones for the evening and then on to Harnser where I found that the work on James’s new building was proceeding apace with ground floor studwork going up despite the low-lying plot being flooded.
A few calls, the mail to collect and other matters to attend to and then off to collect Jim from Wymondham and to be treated to another fine dinner by his wife Julie. I treated him to the match in the evening, which came as a great relief after the terrible week he had at work.
They are making his new department redundant just when he was hoping to settle in after his previous one had closed down! The match was very exciting with end-to-end action as first Norwich went ahead and then Coventry equalised. Just when Norwich seemed to be under the cosh, they got on top again and scored two goals in extra time to gain entry to the next round.
All this meant that we were late leaving the ground and it was after midnight before I could get home to St Neots and round to spend the night with Wiggly. She has been chatty on the car telephone earlier and then more serious when I told her about my clinic visit but was just tired once I had got there and the night did not go well.
As I was not allowed to get excited, she did not want to and so seemed offish and she would not let me pet her and that upset me as I felt rejected. We both tried to make it up a bit but it was a strain as we parted for the day.
