Walking Sam well for a long quartering, training run on a much brighter and milder morning before the bad news at my Kimbolton dental appointment.
This, before taking down the Hayling View Xmas decorations on this 12th night. Off for a bowling evening with Wiggly.
I did not sleep particularly well and, in truth, I now find that the huge bed at The Hayling View is too big and cold for me.

Diana awakes after my disturbing her in the morning, and she went and got me a cup of tea and we sat and chatted a while, with her asking about the meeting.
She took the most interest in the fact of Ross and Sheila Coates breaking up so soon after their engagement. Evidently, they fell out on a trip to Scotland and Ross also took umbrage because Sheila did not want to stand again for Town Council as an Independent.
Washed and shaved and then out with Sam for a long quartering, training run on a much brighter and milder morning and he ran well. The chores in the absence of Pete and then to my desk for a whole host of financial and other action items that have built up this last week.
Then the drive over to Kimbolton for my dental examination. The prognosis was bad and, once I had been anaesthetised and the filling extracted from the offending tooth, I was found to have a crack in it and will have to have a capping made and then fitted in two more unpleasant appointments.
Home to a self-made lunch of beans on toast and then the afternoon working away. I got Diana to help me take down the decorations from round the balconies on this 12th night and then helped her book the US holiday after a great deal of trouble with British Airways on the telephone.
More financial work, another walk for Sam and then my journal keyed into my organiser after tea. Then I loaded up and set off wearing my old clothes over to Wiggly but she did not mind. I got washed, changed ready to enjoy a weekend with her and without Sam.
We were not sure what to do for the evening and ended up driving to Stevenage and trying to find the bowling alley. Once I had got Wiggly there, I found out that the former bowling rink had been redeveloped and so we drove into Stevenage Old Town to have a drink in one of the pubs.
It was strange to see how many very young people were in the pubs and trouble was obviously expected as there were bouncers on the doors of several of them. We still went in to The White Lion and had a bottle of Budweiser lager each and enjoyed a short taste of the music.
So many girls dressed up to the nines as modern-day pub users are obviously just looking to pick up partners. Back in the car and, whilst driving round to look for something to do, we first found the new leisure complex with a nice theatre for future reference, a town centre jazz club that was not operating this evening and then, whilst looking for the Ice-Skating Rink, we found the new bowling rink and went in to try it.
I booked a couple of games each and we got some pizza and more Budweiser lager from the bars and settled down to wait. Just a half hour on the waiting list and then we bowled with me easily outperforming Wiggly on the rink. She had not bowled very much before, enjoyed it and was improving all the while.
