We start our Norfolk holiday aboard Paxton Princess after a clear and frosty night, once I had just about recovered from my foot injury and visited a very full Hinchingbrooke casualty department on. My foot was a little sorer after having it re-dressed but I still managed to walk to the car and then drive home where the family loaded the car and we set off to drive to Norfolk, arriving at Heronshaw about mid-afternoon.
We decided to stay at the moorings overnight and, after some tea, we used our mobile telephone to check the cinema programmes in Norwich and then chose the late film "Honey, I've shrunk the kids" to watch together as a family. The 'fridge was working very well and we had the shore-power to provide our mains heaters left switched on low all night to keep the chill off the air
Slept well again and I hardly notice my foot now. I was slow to rise after my late night and came down to breakfast in my dressing gown again. Fed the fish and then through the bathroom routine with Della missing it for once at Di's request to save time. I shaved etc and dressed so as to make my way to the hospital. I drove myself and found Hinchingbrooke casualty department very full. We had a clear and frosty night, leading to a wave of motoring accidents this morning. I had taken plenty to read which kept me occupied but a man next to me chatted about the unfairness of the government in its treatment of the ambulance drivers. I found out that he knew and respected Marion Woodbridge but did not know that she had been admitted to hospital with "a spot on her lung". He will now contact her and offer his sympathies. My foot was a little sorer after having it re-dressed but I still managed to walk to the car and then drive home.

The family loaded the car and I was set to drive to Norfolk. The drive went very well, except that Daniel and Diana were continually carping on about my driving that they felt was too unsafe and aggressive. We arrived at Heronshaw about mid-afternoon and transferred our things onto the boat. We decided to stay at the moorings overnight and, after some tea, we used our mobile telephone to check the cinema programmes in Norwich and then chose the film "Honey, I've shrunk the kids" to watch together as a family. It did not start until quite late and so it was about 11.00pm before we were back on board. I had set the Webasto heating to come on by time-switch, but it turned out to be a very cold night with a widespread frost. we had the shore-power to provide our mains heaters and these we left switched on low all night to keep the chill off the air. After a certain amount of bickering, the girls settled down, Diana having already gone off to bed, and I stayed up and did the washing up until I was the last one left awake and knew that all the others were asleep. The 'fridge was working very well, soon getting down to working temperatures and keeping the food and drinks icily cold.
