Loading up The Range Rover and towing Daniel’s old boat we battled the wind and arrived at Percival’s and dropped boat and trailer for sale under brokerage. Then to Heronshaw and a right battle with two pike anglers in a boat before I eventually forced them to leave.
The Bloom family arrived in their new boat to look around Heronshaw and the Paxton Princess and had lunch and helped me erect the flagpole and "Jenny Morgan" wind vane atop and stayed a while to help as I worked on the boat. I met the Parker family from The Haven later.
This morning, I loaded up the Range Rover to set off for Norfolk and had the Little Lady in tow. It was fine but very windy and I had to soon stop to put down the vinyl hood as it was tearing in the wind. On the way, I dropped by Sally's and left some more copy for the printers which was quite an event in Avenue Road because of the boat and trailer etc. I had to drive steadily along the A45, but I arrived well before noon at Percival’s Boatyard and discussed the sale of the boat on brokerage before leaving it there on the trailer. They will put a price of £3000 on it but will do a couple of hundred pounds' work first to make it look better to potential purchasers.

Compiling the first election leaflets for Sally and Percy for the forthcoming District Council Election campaign after which I took Della to her horse-riding lesson at Offord where I had to tack up Muffin and supervise her in the school until Fiona eventually came late. This evening getting Di’s help to pack for Norfolk as Sally came around to help complete my Focus artwork
Today was spent compiling the first election leaflets for Sally and Percy for the forthcoming District Council Election campaign. It was a pretty full day, but I broke off this afternoon to take Della to her horse-riding lesson at Offord. Fiona was very late and so we tacked up Muffin and I supervised her in the school until Fiona eventually came, which at least gave Della some good time to practise anyway. Fiona is so unreliable.
I worked until late this evening with Sally Guinee and left her with the artwork for the Liberal Democrat party printers. Diana helped me by packing my things for a trip to Norfolk but did not seem to be too keen on me having these visitors around all the time including Sally.

Organising my boats and trailers with Daniel on another mild and sunny, if breezy, day ready to sell one boat and trailer via Percival’s of Horning next week. Then trimming the lawn and commissioning the Rolls Royce now that Daniel is using the Escort.
Fiona has become much more obliging at the stables, leading Della on foot for her first hack today and we re now planning transport and arrangements for Debbie on Sundance this Spring
Another mild and sunny day today, even though that breeze was still blowing. I went through my morning routine and then opened the lights in the conservatory to give it some ventilation. I updated my action list and identified a few outside jobs and, Daniel being home with Diana and gardener Pete, I decided to get them out there to help me reorganise the boats and trailers. We pulled the "Little Lady" on its trailer and across the games lawn so that I would not have to drive the Range Rover over it and then I towed the boat around to Willow Close. The we took the other trailer (that we had brought back from Heronshaw) down to the river and managed to get Daniel's speedboat on to it quite easily. We kept the 20HP mariner on this and put the 50HP Mercury on the Little Lady so as to sell them as an unwanted combination. All this took some time but I was glad that we did it as it was the first chance the weather had allowed it to be done. I telephoned Percivals brokerage of Horning and arranged for them to take it into their yard on next Saturday morning.

Daniel passes his driving test and Debbie seems to have passed her entrance exam for the Main Kimbolton School and on a very mild and sunny day. Dan was immediately out in the Escort this evening! I was delivering Focus newsletters to remoter parts of Southoe and Diddington this afternoon and then preparing and giving my speech this evening to the St Neots Branch of the Young Farmers Club.
There was rowdy and violent behaviour by some crowds at council meetings up and down the country about the Poll Tax and the DTI report into the Harrods takeover castigated the Al Fayed brothers with minister Nicholas Ridley coming in for criticism from both sides of the House for his lack of action on the matter
A very mild and sunny day today, but the wind was still very strong. Ideal conservatory weather and I opened the roof lights and the double doors into the lounge. Daniel was home this morning and had his driving lesson before taking his driving test later in the morning. I did some paperwork and then went into town to get my hair cut and to open a new building society account. On my way back, I called home on the car phone and was very pleased to hear that Daniel had passed his test which was cause for celebration. We also have not heard from Kimbolton which means that Debbie has passed her entrance exam for the Main School and so they have both done well.
