It was another day of administration and political work for me as Diana went out to do the shopping. I was up reasonably on time and joined the others at the breakfast table before seeing Daniel off to work. Fed the fish whilst waiting for the post to come and it was a pity that there was another letter for Daniel from Angela which came too late for him to see before he left for the day. A pile of council papers arrived for me to study and this took me most of the morning. I went through last night's St Neots Town Council papers and then next Tuesday's Environmental Services Committee papers, making notes for discussion with Sally. Just had time to type a couple of letters before lunch.

This afternoon, I prepared the FOCUS's for delivery to the houses that had missed out before Christmas with "sorry we're late" inserts and then went out to deliver them in the St James Road area. Once home, and after tea, I then prepared the letters and enclosures to local businesses inviting them to advertise in this coming year's issues and went out to deliver twenty of them in Little Paxton, Southoe and Diddington. Later, I made a number of organising telephone calls to friends and colleagues before settling down to my journal and then the television news.
