Della's Kimbolton Prep Carol Service
Della's Kimbolton Prep Carol Service

We had joy attending Della's Kimbolton Prep Carol Service and then driving on to Brampton Garden Centre for pre-Christmas Lunch with Charles and Norma as we put up the Christmas Lights around

The Hayling View. The GATT round seems to be agreed at last with the U.S. and Europe agreeing to differ over the Audio-Visual trade.

The wind had veered to the north and I was able to get the gardener burning all of our garden rubbish this morning. Sam seems completely recovered from his ailments and was his normal bouncy self again. There was time to put up the wiring for The Hayling View Christmas lights before Diana's parents arrived for morning coffee prior to joining us for Della's School Carol Service.

We got there in good time to find seats together and had a good view and hearing of the service. As always, the headmaster had presented a good celebration of Christmas with some fine music and singing, and this was the more pleasurable for us as Della was singing in the choir for the first time. There took place a collection for the school's Inner City appeal.

Then on to Brampton Garden Centre for an arranged pre-Christmas Lunch with Charles and Norma which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Out with Sam on our return but no water-work with him as the weather was very cold and too chilling for him to be getting wet. A tragedy and shock when I got back as Diana started the Land Rover and there was fur flying literally as I found a neighbour's cat under the bonnet.

It was mangled by the fan belt and pulleys, had lost a leg and so I put it out of its agony and disposed of its body. I advised Diana not to call the owners over of tell of its fate as it would be less distressing for it to be viewed as gone missing. Such silly animals to seek the warmth in such a dangerous place and such a horrific way to die.

I caught up with a lot of work this evening, paying bills and writing my Christmas Cards before updating my journal and going to bed. The GATT round seems to be agreed at last with the U.S. and Europe agreeing to differ over Audio-Visual trade which is a victory for France in holding out against the invasion of American culture.
