Organising the renaissance of my Reliant, training Sam on water retrieves and enjoying a family day. The weather was very warm and both girls had friends round to go swimming in the pool
Diana and I were reluctant to get up this morning and, with Sam being content to stay in his kennel without making a fuss, we just laid in and together for the first time for a while. A long walk with Sam before breakfast, setting a few challenges for him with water retrieves until I went too far and lost the dummy too far out in the river! I made up for it later in the day, re-building his confidence in the gravel pits and then spending a long time with him "fielding" tennis balls on the game’s lawns.

A slow morning, sitting in the lounge with Della, exhausted after walking Sam, doing the chores and watering the hanging baskets but then, after lunch, I sorted out the garages and got the Reliant down off its trailer and started it up. I intended to try to service it and then get it through its MOT test before going back to Norfolk. Daniel came back home this afternoon, and it was his game with Jason that Sam and I did the retrieving for. The weather was very warm and both girls had friends round to go swimming in the pool and I envied them all. Sometime sorting out my journal for May and updating the current month before bed but there is always work to do at my desk and today was no exception.
