We had decided to get some more of the Marks & Spencer "Harvest"-pattern crockery

To Norwich Shopping for ‘harvest pattern’ crockery on a much less humid day than of late and then back to perform more Paxton Princess maintenance.

We had a slow start to the day, laying in for some time before I took Sam for a walk. He was very good and capable after the excitement of yesterday, obeying my every command and performing some difficult retrieves but it is another thing when faced with the distractions of other people and dogs.

The rush into Norwich in time for Debbie's latest contact lens appointment, coffee and fruit scone at Jarrold’s and then some shopping together with Di before we each did some on our own. We had decided to get some more of the Marks & Spencer "Harvest"-pattern crockery.

We had bought some made of Melamine for the boat before and purloined it for use in Harnser once it was built and now we needed that set back and were equipping Harnser with its own. These days, they only make it in china clay, and we were glad we purchased the other set when we did.

Together at Oliver's for lunch and then a few chores in the car on the way home: some aerosol paint for the Discovery scratch; an abortive attempt to get replacement filters to replenish our boat spares; and then more success in getting diesel engine oil.

More chemical toilet fluid from Norfolk Marine on the way home and then we could get back at last in mid-afternoon. The rest of the afternoon and evening servicing the boat mechanics and then late in to bathe and write up this last couple of days journal before going to bed at 11.00pm tired after an active day.

The news is of explosions at an Ulster police station, killing several, and of yet another airline hi-jack in Russia where this time passengers were killed with a grenade as police guards moved in. Neil Kinnock gets a job in Europe as a Commissioner. The forecast is for more warm and muggy weather but at least we had our respite.
