After waking up and walking Sam to the end of Crabbet’s Marsh and seeing the broads' wildlife, a family visit to Wells-next-the-Sea.
The girls to the amusements and then we all enjoyed a long walk to the Scots Pine woods at Holkham Beach
There was no alarm set for today and so it was left for me to wake up to the sound of Sam and the broads' wildlife after 7.00am.

I got shaved, showered and dressed and then took Sam for a long walk to the end of Crabbet’s Marsh whilst the girls took their inevitably long time in the bathroom.
A rest on my return, this time inputting budgets for all my expenditure items and splitting my Scottish transactions to reclaim VAT, and then we all jumped in the car (with Sam) and drove up to Wells-next-the-Sea.
We refused to tell the girls where we were going but they were pleased to see when we arrived and made a beeline for the burgher bar.
There was an open amusement hall at the rear of the cafe and, whilst Diana and I sat and drank tea and after we all had a snack lunch of burghers and puddings, the girls played away with the store of two-pence that Della had brought along and won a nice necklace with a pretend green precious stone.
The drive up to the Scots Pine woods at Holkham and there we all enjoyed a long walk, with Sam not stopping running for hours on end with his truly wonderful stamina. It was Diana's choice to go there for the day, but the girls enjoyed it very much and it was a red-letter day for Sam.
The journey back to Harnser, some tea and then a relaxed evening of television which made a change for me. I tried calling Wiggly quite early but she was perpetually engaged on one of her hour-long calls to her Mum and Dad on the eve of his birthday!
Eventually, I slipped out to telephone her late after Diana had gone to bed; using the cordless telephone to make the call from the garage. Just as well I called her as she had a late, rather unsatisfactory, night with the post-theatre party enjoyment blighted by a row amongst her friends over who was to drive again.
Then a quiet day with little to do when she and I could have been doing some good things together. In to my journal and then earlyish to bed.
