To Mann Egerton in time for my car service alarm diagnosis and service and then to Norwich for a Psion 3a Organiser modem option.

This evening to the Theatre Royal production of "Wizard of Oz"

A poor night, as we were disturbed by the car alarm going off twice. The second disturbance was at 6.00am and we decided to get up and have a cup of tea anyway.

Out with Sam, my knees and legs still aching from yesterday's mammoth effort, and then back to help Diana who was really struggling with the girls who were refusing to get ready. A bit of a rush in the end to get to Mann Egerton in time for my car service.

I took the service supervisor for a test ride to begin with, but he diagnosed my road noise as being from the Town & Country tyres and not the exhaust system of transmission.

He was concerned enough about my hifi problems to undertake to do something about it and felt the intermittent burglar false alarms were due to the internal sensor which problems could be solved by fitting a replacement 1995 sensor.

After all this, I joined Diana and the girls shopping in Norwich City centre and then, a Jarrold's coffee break, an Oliver's lunch and after to buy my Psion 3a Organiser modem option.

Some calls to both Psion and CIX Technical support, a chat with the computer shop and then another with Dan who captured a Psion off-line reader program from the shareware files and then sent them over the modem to me this evening so that I could get try to get connected!

We collected the car from Marshalls and made our way home in time for me to receive Mr. Hurrell of Wroxham Builders by appointment. I took him upstairs and around the house and he was able to say that the room conversion would not be too difficult and so went away to work out some prices and timescales for the job.

The girls will be most happy to have a separate bedroom in which to sleep, even if it would end up like a boat cabin. I had not realised that the Theatre Royal production of "Wizard of Oz" started at 6.00pm and this caused us a rush and even then, we were five minutes late for the start but we were still allowed in.

The house was full and seemed to enjoy it like our girls but for Diana and I, we were tired and had probably seen one Wizard of Oz too many. Back by 9.00pm and then over three hours playing computer modems with Daniel, who first loaded up a piece of transfer software and then helped me download the Cix Off Line Reader files for me to try to commission on my Psion.

I gave up and went to bed in the end failing to get it going but having learned a lot in the process.
