More than 40 years, told day by day
Organising the LibDem local elections on a warm and sunny day giving out advice and instruction sheets to the helpers for all of the processes.
We were doing surprisingly well in the new wards of Buckden and Eynesbury, we were sadly lacking as far as canvassing in the villages making up The Offord’s. Then A good long run with Sam in the afternoon
The weather even better than yesterday being both warm and sunny which made a very pleasant surprise. The same morning routine as yesterday so that I was able to join the girls with Sam for the walk to the bus stop. Then on with him to the gravel pits where I achieved a slightly better entry into the water for him which was progress.

Getting the girls back to school after their Easter holiday on a milder day and giving Sam for two walks today. A good visit to Cambridge Street where we are converting the derelict Victorian cottages into modern one-bedroomed flats with three of the four already reserved.
This as Debbie is creating about the arrangements for her birthday and as I took Diana to the cinema to see the historical drama about the Beatles called "Backbeat".
We were all up early today and there was much ado as the girls got ready to go back to school after their Easter holiday. I got out early with Sam so that he was toileted in time to join the girls for the walk to the bus stop. Debbie took his lead as I carried her bag and then Della made a big fuss of him as they were waiting for the bus.

With the weather much improved, after updating my computer journal for these last ten days, I returned to election organising making a number of long telephone calls to our four candidates resolving campaign problems and organising the next stage in the campaign, even chancing upon both of the Tory candidates, Terry Hayward and the young Normington. Also, time for two good sessions with Sam today. The news is still of Bosnia as the world community tries to decide what to do in response to the latest Serb actions.
The weather today was bright and the best for some time and this helped my outside work with Sam and the work of those campaigning in the local elections. But first, after seeing the family off out for the day, I spent the morning and was glad to finish this by lunch time.

Getting back to normal and catching up with friends and transactions and then collecting Sam from Trevor Rigby in Lincoln who had been doing well.
I had expected a period of readjustment but we went straight back into our routine and he obeyed me well and was quite steady for me at least.
It was hard getting back to normal today, but I started by showering and washing my hair and then having breakfast as the others struggled to get up and join Diana and I. Some time returning telephone calls and then going through the mail to gather together cheques to pay in and urgent bills to pay.

Finishing our 500-piece Parc Asterix jigsaw puzzle before catch the bus to EuroDisney for taking pictures of another parade, the park and the family before off to Charles de Gaulles airport. The countryside was landscaped and owned by Disney to create a "cordon sanitaire" of no wildlife around the park.
The flight home and the Hotel Marriott coach was waiting at Terminal 4 to take us back to that hotel car park for our for journey home.
News from the Bosnian town of Goradsne where the Serbs were defying the United Nations measures and advancing on the enclave anyway. Gary Sobers achieves the highest personal score, scoring 375 against England.
As soon as I awoke, I got started on the puzzle again but time and the family were against me as we had to pack and leave the hotel by 11.00am or be charged for another day. I tackled this problem, and the excessive waits for luggage storage, by transferring the jigsaw out onto the one table in the hall where the girls continued it as Diana and I did the packing.

On by far the mildest day of the week so far which was still chilly and uncomfortable, we the girls travel to Disneyland by themselves today.
We tried to catch the two-hour sightseeing tour of the city but were just too late at the Paris Vision and Citirama bus station but we ended up at "Pont Neuf" where there were one-hour boat trips around the Isle de Paris that gave us good views without too much expense.
To Torcy to do our shopping alone. for the cookies, crisps and cake that I had bought at very good prices as an alternative to the costly park fare
A long lay in again and casual breakfast amongst the confusion of the "Chuck Wagon" eating melee. We decided to let the girls travel to Disneyland by themselves today and we gave them a room card/key to meet them back in the hotel later. Diana and I got our 90FF Formule 1 tickets for the day and went off to Paris.
