More than 40 years, told day by day
A lay in and rest for a change as a recovery day before walking Sam and then taking Diana shopping in Peterborough. This evening I studied what it would take to swap over to the charts and software of ICS
I had left a note for Diana not to wake me up this morning and so it was well after 9.00am before I had washed, dressed and got out with Sam. The snow was still everywhere which made walking difficult, but it was a new experience for him and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

A long-standing plan to visit the London International Boat Show which we did after collecting Steve’s Christine from Gatwick. Much time investigating maritime computer software and then my guests made us late and we struggled to tackle a snowstorm which meant me taking them home and getting back for bed at 3.30pm!
This day had been planned well in advance for a trip to The London International Boat Show at Earls Court but Steve had mixed up his dates and it was always going to be difficult combining this visit with collecting his friend Christine from Gatwick Airport. Steve arrived and we left at 7.00am and made our way down the A1 to the M25 London Orbital Road and across the Queen Elizabeth Bridge

As it continued wet and windy, I still had to take Sam out for exercise and training doing water retrieves. Much of the day working on endless financial matters and paperwork.
Then time with Della on her project before a chance to do some construction of an aerial tuner.
The night was wet and windy and this weather continued into the day. I was awake several times and then again before 6.00am when Diana rose and got us both a morning drink. I opted to get showered and dressed and then spent a useful hour in my office preparing some correspondence before breakfast. The meal over, I returned to my work as the rain still poured down making conditions poor for walking the dog.
A mission to get satisfaction from poor suppliers ends up with solicitors as I tackle paperwork and disputes. Two good long sessions with the dog.
The weather varying from damp to just downright wet as we learn of December being the wettest for twenty years and 1992 the wettest year for ten.
Diana went out with Chrisula and her children to Cambridge and was hopelessly delayed. Norwich lost their latest football match and with all hopes of the title and possibly their manager Mike Walker.
There is something of the masochist in me. Not only do I create all sorts of rods for my own back like pursuing this journal, embarking on mammoth projects and suchlike; but I also feel the necessity to take on all examples of inefficiency and injustice. Today, I had a go at just about everyone and particularly those who had been sending me bills early and with incomplete or incorrect information.

A mixed training session dog run in Acle with Jim and Ben and then journey home to Paxton. This evening, the children all played the computer game, "Day of the Tentacle".
The stories were still of Bosnia, Ulster and John Major's political problems and so 1994 has carried on where 1993 left off!
I had set my radio alarm clock last night and so when it was time to get up and ready to take Sam out for another training session, it gave me a call at 7.30am. I tried to creep out and had some breakfast on the way and then gave Sam a short run before setting off for "The Acle Straight", near Yarmouth. It only took me about half an hour to get there from Horning and so I stopped off and gave Sam a run round the fields by the road until it was time to rendezvous with Jim Bird and Ben.

Sam's Training Day in Harlow via Wymondham to collect Jim Bird and Ben, On a cold day with a chill breeze my my feet were frozen by the end of the afternoon after I had stumbled into deep water and had two wet sleeves and two boot-fuls of water.
Sam was quite good on his general obedience work and retrieved well on land but growled at other dogs at times but many other dogs whose behaviour was worse and the ones that bettered him were a bit older
I had arranged to share the journey down to Harlow with Jim Bird and his dog Ben and so got up in good time to try first wearing Sam out with a long walk with the aim of steadying him up. There was no sound from the rest of the family as I got up and dressed and so I gave him an even longer run than usual and not only took him around Crabbett's Marsh but also across the fields and then into Horning to get a morning newspaper.
